As he worked to recreate this fairy tale with a few modern twists, Webb found a perfect collaborator in Zegler. Read more about how Zegler gave voice to the timeless character of Snow White.
According to #SnowWhite director Marc Webb, the film’s heroine “has an optimistic, youthful grace. Even in her darkest moments, she finds humanity and beauty in others. I think Rachel has that in her spirit.”

#Disney princesses have never had it easy. In the case of #RachelZegler’s Snow White, however, there seems to be a blurring of boundaries between heroine and villainess—at least among some very vocal online trolls.

One suggestion to the trolls: Maybe it’s time to look in the mirror, like Snow White’s Evil Queen (an anti-DEI crusader if there ever was one), and let it reveal the ugliness there. Or better yet, see how little there is to fear in #RachelZegler who was picked to tell a beloved story.
The new live-action version of #SnowWhite is in theaters today. By now, we’ve all heard about the “backlash,” the “controversy,” directed at a fictional Disney princess played by an actor who has the temerity to be a phenomenally talented Latina with a feminist perspective and a mind of her own.

In the Allure cover profile, Zegler offers her take on the ways the Snow White story, its central romance, and even the concept of “fairest of them all,” have been expanded.
Snow White isn’t just any fairy tale, it’s the fairy tale. And the latest Disney princess is a Latina with the voice of an angel and a spine of steel. #RachelZegler, already a Golden Globe winner for her portrayal of MarĂa in West Side Story, wants to win the hearts of a new generation of fans.
