I lived in NYC in the 1980’s and 1990’s. It is all depressingly familiar. We were grossed out by him then and now much more of America and the world understands why… all the ugly behind the arrogance, the bravado and the glitz. Some people will always be drawn to that… but I don’t get it.

They’re planning on building a detention center for migrants in the middle of the fetid swamps of Florida.
If you think this is something new, the first internment camp they sent me and my family to in 1942 was a barbed wire prison called Rohwer. It was located in the swamps of Arkansas.
One thing that seems absolutely clear, though, is that the administration is lying… pushing slogans to save themselves. If they had an ounce of self discipline they’d soft-sell until they have verified facts from reliable sources. But, in every facet mentioned, that just ain’t how this crew rolls.

The reach of MAGA and the Far Right greatly exceeds even the presence of any opposing voices. It is a tremendous issue/challenge for the Left. Let’s face it, it’s easier to tap into people’s anger and frustration than it is to ignite people’s empathy and compassion. Problem #1?
