12 [WB] Beat Poems - Commander (Abigale, Poet Laureate // Heroic Stanza) A Commander deck featuring Abigale, Poet Laureate // Heroic Stanza by Cryptic | Dingus Egg โ€ข Intended Bracket: 2 ||

The deck 100% has wings, and with a little more tinkering will be a very fun bracket 2 Voltron list.

The sequencing to make sure Abigale is prepared, and then extract maximum value from Heroic Stanza is the real trick. Master that, and this deck really sings.

I think I made just one misplay all game, but I think it ultimately ended up being quite crucial.

Thanks to @manadorkjohn.bsky.social, @chargingbadger.bsky.social and @chronomagistrate.bsky.social for another awesome game and bringing some cool decks.

I'm so impressed with how Abigale handled that pod. Didn't quite get the win, but did take out someone with commander damage, took a big chunk out of someone else's and would've threatened the full 21 in a single turn on a third.

To see the overall outcome, please check the BCG VOD on Twitch or YT!

I can't believe the Witch-Maw Merfolk propaganda is working.

Played really well tonight, wind taken out the sails when the officials inexplicably overturn the penalty decision.

We concede penalties for far, far less constantly. The one time it happens to us, overturned.

Play like that for the rest of the season, we'll get UCL next season.

Then go again.

Read further to the conclusions.

I'd like to point out that people play Coup, Werewolf and Among Us with people and then are capable of trusting those people in the real world.

Someone being good at deception within a game environment, doesn't mean they'll opt to receive you in the real world.

It's different in B1-3, I wouldn't advocate lying, but I also advocate for not revealing the truth.

Make people find out if you have the removal, the fog, etc. It's a fundamental skill of the game, make them have the thing you're afraid of.

If you don't, they've beaten you without playing a spell.

If I'm playing a B4 game, I'd expect people to be playing it in a way to try and win.

If you're not prepared to deal with the problems as they become present in the game, you're not lining up for the Bracket properly.

Don't blame someone else for your own flapping about.

Am I Lying in a Game of Commander, or Am I Playing to My Outs? | EDHREC At what point does withholding details become lying? In a game of Commander, is it okay to deceive? Or even lie? Let's discuss.

'RJ' is fine to do this, Bracket 4 is called Optimised. Which shouldn't just be your deck building, it should be your approach to playing.

RJ optimised their chances and Stephen de-optimised his by letting something which is clearly an issue stick because of "benefit of the doubt."

Also a little treat for myself. I need more shirts that accurately describe me.

Finally got around to changing the curtains in the office (left) and bedroom (right).

Been putting it off far too long.

It's for sure too heavily memed on for "being bad", much how Mudkip memes make that overrated.

I used to run Magcargo as part of my Grass-Water-Fire core in Gen 5 Smogon PU. Loved it.

I wanted to put Charizard for overrated but Jro already had that, Blissey is also overrated though.

12 [WB] Beat Poems - Commander (Abigale, Poet Laureate // Heroic Stanza) A Commander deck featuring Abigale, Poet Laureate // Heroic Stanza by Cryptic | Dingus Egg โ€ข View on Moxfield

Now that the full SOS set list is out, took some time to redo the initial draft of Abigale.

This deck looks really fun without being too much, hopefully it's squarely bracket 2 - and I don't see anything on paper which would suggest not.

I like how Eshki plays, I suspect this will follow suit.

I completely agree, I'm sure none of my friends have a single bad thing to say about Preston, right?

Right?

Long term, it's my intent to make a further 4 sets - at least.

Each being their own draftable set cube, but also forming a full constructed format for my LGS group to get stuck in with, to replace our Block Constructed events.

I'm immensely proud of what I've made here, I hope you check it out!

Hayvne: Second Age of Gloom Set File

The set has been called Gloomsday as a code name, but I finally settled on a more "set-like" name.

Hayvne: Second Age of Gloom

There is lore (which is coming soon-ish from actual quality writers, not me).

A full set list can be found on my "Scryfall at Home" Google sheet here.

A turquoise card carrying box showing 848 sleeved cards. A second thinner grey box on the left with a further 150 sleeved cards.

Today is the official testing day for my custom set (cube)!

848 individual cards, this cube can support a full 8 player "pre-release" sealed event. Every one printed on label paper, cut and stuck to a backing card by hand.

All bar 5 of the 194 cards in the set are unique custom designs by myself.

Already seeing a lot of Heroic builds and I respect that, I just know it's not for me.

I don't feel many of the Heroic cards hold up to scrutiny (and haven't for a long time).

That's why my intent is to go Voltron, let Abigale's stanzas buff herself and fly over the top for commander damage.

12 [WB] Beat Poems - Commander (Abigale, Poet Laureate // Heroic Stanza) A Commander deck featuring Abigale, Poet Laureate // Heroic Stanza by Cryptic | Dingus Egg โ€ข Still a WIP, not all cards will be retained. Waiting on more Secrets of Strixhaven cards to be previewed...

Small tweaks to Abigale, still waiting on the Silverquill preview day to really sure it up with repartee cards.

This feels like going back to my roots and trying to really push less fancied commanders.

Also, don't really have a Voltron deck right now and this feels a bit different.
