A painting of a traditional Japanese house surrounded by nature and flowers. A child sitting on the porch. It's raining.
In a rainy mood today, so I'm sharing a digital painting I made a few years ago.
It is absolutely ok. I think I know who it might be, and blocking them is more than reasonable; they were giving off creepy vibes.
Also, hi, I know I haven't posted in over a year. I got super sick and had to halt all original writing and drawing. I'm just starting to feel better, but can't promise any new content yet anytime soon.
And I mean mandatory gen AI. I am an ML eng after all so I know when particular types of AI are useful. But the uncritical, forced adoption of gen AI for everyone at work seems irresponsible.
A lot of other tech companies in Toronto are following suit. The company I work for has also introduced mandatory AI for all software devs and other employees. 😕
I'm looking for some other platform besides etsy to set up my shop and was strongly considering Shopify but the owner announced MANDATORY use of AI by employees + AI first approach to hiring
It seems the customer service and experience are gonna take a nosedive in the name of cutting corners
Oh no, I'm sorry I laughed at this, but that's such an evocative imagery. I'm so glad you're doing better! ❤️
Oooh good luck! I pray all would go smoothly for you. I'm on the medical jump scare train as well, waiting on the results of an MRI I got last week. 🤞🤞It's so hard to concentrate!
Thank you, Bev! And it doesn't sound trite at all. Taking it one day at a time is a skill I'm still trying to hone. I've always planned my activities months ahead, and it's such a big change to not even know how well I'll feel this evening.
I unfortunately joined the club this year, and I don't know how y'all been going at this for so long. 😭
I love this series so much!
Happy watching!! I need to find the time to do this as well.
For Toriyama.
Lol, I love Gohan's sweet, dorky personality, but OOC Gohan was one of my favourite fanfic tropes. So entertaining, so angsty!!
Fanart of Shu and Mai firing a light machine gun together
This is my favorite Dragonball fanart I've done.
It’s always odd to mourn someone you never met, or even knew, but there’s something so heavy about looking at a person’s work in your history and thinking “who I am now wouldn’t exist if not for them.”
Creative influence is so important. Sharing art and joy makes a difference.
An oldie of mine.
I've always loved Toriyama's mechanical and vehicle designs. The Red Ribbon Army arc was full of them, and it's one of my favorite arcs of the whole series!
I'm sorry to my followers right now. You won't hear anything else from me other than DBZ for a good while.
really sad to hear about toriyama's passing... the older i get, the more i appreciate dbz. & what a fantastic character designer he was. rip to an absolute legend.
Videl is one of my absolute favourite characters of all time of all media! Kid-me was so obsessed with her and I still love her so much!
His character intro, design, backstory were SO GOOD, even within the DBZ universe itself.
Dr. Slump and Arale
Everyone knows I'll draw Dragon Ball stuff at the drop of a hat. But when I think about the man, Akira Toriyama, I think about Dr. Slump.
Rest in Peace
I can't put into words just how great Akira Toriyama's career was. Its influence on pop culture, on the industry, and the world. It's immeasurable. The world has lost a master of adventure and magic, and it will be darker without him.
a final page from the end of the dragon ball z manga with a thank you and personal message from toriyama: Thank you so much for reading Dragon Ball for allthese years I'm grateful for all the support you've shown me, right to the finish line! I've been planning this end for quite a while--I'm sorry that it had to be announced so suddenly. My editors have agreed to let me end this manga so I can take some new steps in life. It's time to take a break-although Imay draw some one-shots here and there. I'm sure you'll see me again, and i'm sure it'lbe fun (or at least, I hope so), so stay tuned! Until we meet again-so long! -Akira Toriyama May 1995
tackle life with as much energy as goku!
“He created creators” is honestly such an incredible legacy. The highest honor an artist can achieve.
He’s one of the few guys where I’m like
If you think you weren’t inspired by him you e either didn’t look close enough or you are inspired by someone who was inspired by him
