“As a former school adjustment counselor who has worked with #SalemMA youth for nearly 16 years, I’ve seen how a learning environment shapes a young person’s experience. Right now, SHS students will tell you the building does not support a sense of safety...”

The First Muster commemorates the first assembly of what would become the National Guard, on #SalemMA Common in 1637.
It’s a day to thank & celebrate the service of today’s Guard, but to also acknowledge that the reason for the 1637 muster was to wage war on the Indigenous inhabitants of the area.
Today we celebrated the 251st anniversary of Leslie’s Retreat by dedicating a new memorial kindly donated by Ed Lavoie. Feb 26 1775, the people of #SalemMA successfully confronted British troops en route to confiscate colonial arms, marking the dawn of a republic that gives no deference to kings.
Tomorrow, April 11th, is our next Day of Action for the YES for #SalemMA campaign! Sign up to help out at www.voteyesforsalem.com#getinvolved.

Could we use it for a renovation instead? Could we still take it and do the new building anyway?
New FAQ at www.salemma.gov/salemhighschool answers these questions.
Had a blast walking the runway last night at the #SalemMA Main Streets fashion show fundraiser at PEM and sharing styles from Marine Hall Mercantile!

Right now, in places across America, our trans neighbors are under threat and under attack. As a community that has learned from its own tragic past, we will always be a place that welcomes and stands up for every person. #TDOV 🏳️⚧️
