My death paladin demanded a sketch so here we are...I am good at focusing on one craft

Now there's a tattoo
Some beading 'craft snacks' I've been doing. Craft snacks are short projects that let you feel accomplished while slogging away on big stuff. A little nibble between full meals

This is beautiful
The expressions are perfect
This coronet set is done, I'll get some fancy pics later today and delivery Saturday

Very glam stage of polishing
If you need to create solidarity amongst divergent crafting groups, they all have an object that is necessary to function that always goes missing. Instant comraderie, sewing mains have a seam ripper problem, garage mains always missing the chuck key
Carivaggios version feels like an influencer posing. It makes me feel the same way everyone feels about Katy Perry in 'space'
In a world with women's rights under attack, and rising tyranny I find myself drawn to the emotions that this depiction brings up for me.
Artemesia's version is my favorite because of the rage. Judith isn't soft, or passive, she's in it and mad. She is also a self portrait of the artist, and I have heard, but cant verify, that Holofernes was modeled after her rapist. It's a striking image of feminine determination and rage.
The basic story of Judith slaying Holofernes is that he is a foreign general threatening Judith's home. She uses his own lust for her to get close to him, get him drunk and then kill him. Which saves her home. Which is why pmdepictions of this moment are seen as an allegory for fighting tyranny
The story of Judith and this version in particular are so weighted with meaning for our current times. Buckle up for some art history
Finished up this illustration of a pendant I'll hopefully get to make over the summer, inspired by Artemesia Gentileschi's Judith slaying Holofernes

In a world where women's rights are threatened and tyrants grow in power, I find myself reminded of this story and painting often.
Artemesia's version is notable for being less soft than many versions, and she also used herself as a model for Judith. I have also heard that Holofernes was modeled after her rapist, but I'm not sure of the truth of that. Either way it's a strong image of using feminine power and rage.
The basic story is that Judith's home is threatened by a foreign general, Holofernes, so she uses his own lust for her to get close to him, get him drunk and then kill him. Saving her home. Which is why images of the scene are often seen as an allegory for the fight against tyranny.
The tale of Judith slaying Holofernes, and specifically that version of it both have so much weight that I think fits with the world right now. Buckle up for some art history
This coronet project feels like it's taking forever to look like anything but a pile of parts

The angst, I love it
Everything about this is beautiful, the cloak draped over Jayce's arm is perfection
Posting old stuff because I love it still, my cosplay of Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn, shot by the incredible Vang Her

a medieval style digital drawing in progress. there’s an ornate border around the edges, with gold hearts filled with flowers and pink and blue scrollwork, with some spaces left to be filled by little beasts. in the center, a sainted knight with brown skin, wearing the trans flag as a cape, sits on horseback and stabs a long spear into a dragon. there’s gothic text over the top and bottom of the image reading “A world without trans people has never existed and never will”
working on something sick as hell
Wow, just wow. Storytelling, composition colors, I'm in love
Revamped my Aloy cosplay for the times:

Love this concept
Almost done with parts cutting for the coronets, then I can finally start soldering and getting them to look like more than a bunch of flat parts
