On a walk around #Conwy yesterday, I spotted something I hadn't noticed before. This magnificent #Gothic railway arch, built in 1840, through the #Medieval walls. It even continues the castellated parapet! Zoom in, and you can see where bits were chipped away as trains got bigger! #photograph #photo

PMUs are a unique French institution. Somewhere between betting shops, cafés, bars and social clubs, they exist in every town. People use them, or staunchly avoid them. Hipsters are creeping in.

Merry Christmas, Bluesky! I'm celebrating by gifting cocktail recipes. Reply or repost with an inspiration for me - an ingredient you don't know what to do with, classic you want a riff on, food you want to pair with, mood, occasion, or etc and I'll give you a recipe! Zero-proof/NA cocktails too. 🍸
I’d love to see more niche, premium print publications make it easier for journalists to request sample articles. We can’t pitch you well unless we can read some of the stuff you publish! #journalism #writing

Made my first bijou, forgot to photograph it, anyway it was delicious. #cocktails
Recently I looked into craft white #whiskey. This was an interesting one to research and write.

Congrats Pellicle team! :)
A pink cocktail in a gold rimmed coupe glass.
Made a cocktail with fresh blood orange juice. Delicious but my countertop got a little messy!
This is a fun piece! It got me thinking that one thing I actually enjoy seeing much less of outside of the UK is the rounds system. While it’s a lovely thing in theory, I’ve found that without it, it’s much easier to choose precisely what and how much to drink, and when to leave.

This was a pretty good end of hike view.
Spongey is right. I was asked whether crumpets were ‘softer’ which felt hard to answer without waxing lyrical about the crisp one side and wonderful chewiness meets fluffiness.
Today an American asked me how crumpets are different from English muffins and I was at a loss to talk through the distinctions of these vastly different but both excellent bread products.
If you have pet food or supplies you no longer need or can afford to buy some extra to donate to food banks, unpaid workers & those who rely on SNAP benefits are going to need help. For some recipients those animal companions are emotional support animals or maybe even service dogs. #LendAPaw
I’d personally avoid meat and fish for the second meal because I’m also a worrier. I find hard cheese based sandwiches travel fairly well over several hours.

Found a local brewery with Lukr taps
Love that idea! Thanks! :)
I’m loving baked tofu recently and I’m in the market for new marinade ideas. Any thoughts, anyone? #vegetarian #vegan #healthy #food
Ok, this is officially taking fall too far.
Rice cooker! I use mine so much and it’s really small.
Bright blue sky streaked with sparse white clouds. Sun shining. Sandia mountains. Yellow and green grasses, cactuses, bushes.
From yesterday’s hike
Libraries and post offices should merge, and there should be a coffee shop.
Pick up your pension, get a book, have a coffee with friends. Cut overheads for everyone, reduce loneliness, and save libraries and post offices.

Has anyone else seen a lot of bunnies around this year? 🐰
