The Great Replacement Theory and its origins is a must to learn. I've got my copy now. Ibram X Kendi is a God-send.
To say there’s a “war against men” is to circulate one of the murderous lies that is inciting and justifying the slaughter of women and girls worldwide.
As men lose their status or don’t attain the status they feel they deserve, they unleash their rage against women who as a group are being robbed and losing out and struggling even more.
Critical masses of everyday men firmly support these authoritarian men who are robbing them of their livelihoods while framing women as the robbers.
Authoritarian men are pushing this great replacement theory, that men are losing their livelihoods at the hands of women, to justify transnational wars against feminist ideas (which they call “gender ideology”), democracy, gender equity, reproductive justice and accountability for sexual misconduct.
Rates of femicide—the murder of women or girls due to their gender—are rising worldwide while authoritarian men increasingly fabricate a “war against men.”

Can’t help but plug @ibramxk.bsky.social latest because it is scholarship that removes the need for you to qualify your post with “IMO”
Wonderful event with @ibramxk.bsky.social in Vancouver last night.

In my conversation with @ibramxk.bsky.social, he discusses the last six years of first a "racial reckoning" and then a counter-mobilization against it that didn't just come from the right. newrepublic.com/article/2089...
"Authoritarianism and the erosion of democracy is being justified via great replacement theory. It's allowing an economic and political class to continue their
hoarding of power, getting the people they're taking rights from to believe they're actually protecting them," says @ibramxk.bsky.social.
"When you can make a group of people believe their lives are under attack, their jobs are being stolen, their electoral power taken away, their culture eroded, it allows you to claim you're going to be their savior and their protector. That's happened around the world," says @ibramxk.bsky.social.
It is global! Adopting different "flavors" by region. And it has a history.
Looking forward to reading this, from @ibramxk.bsky.social

Reading Ibram X Kendi's Chain of Ideas while (hopefully) watching Orban lose is great timing.
The Great Replacement politicians are all connected. I recommend everyone read, “Chain of Ideas” by Ibram X. Kendi.
In good news, the ruler of Hungary for the last 16 years, Victor Orbán, was defeated today. Orbán is one of the main writers of the authoritarian playbook, featuring great replacement theory. The campaigning of Trump and Vance failed. Hungarians gave humanity hope.

Prof @ibramxk.bsky.social ties them all together in his lucid "Chain of Ideas":

Cover of Ibram X. Kendi's book 'Chain of Ideas: The Origins of Our Authoritarian Age' and headshot of author Ibram X. Kendi with DEPTH PERCEPTION branding and headline: Ibram X. Kendi has chronicled the history of America's racist ideas. Here's why he's still "uncommonly hopeful."
@ibramxk.bsky.social's work on racism proves time and again that racism is not history we look back upon with wiser eyes, but a force that continues to mutate. Yet, the scholar still feels "uncommonly hopeful" about the future. He says he has to be in order to bring about change.
Click through to read about why Ibram X. Kendi’s new book, Chain of Ideas, is so important in our current era of dangerous political ideas.
Dr. Kendi joins us for one night only in Vancouver on Monday, April 13.

Progressives controlling majority on Wisconsin Supreme Court through at least 2030 is BFD. Means they can prevent Trump and his allies from trying to steal another presidential election in the state & potentially block another round of GOP gerrymandering www.motherjones.com/politics/202...
Disaster Fascism: One Civilization Must Disappear So Another Can Prosper • Two Frames for Understanding Trump's Threat to Annihilate Iran; Related Convo with Ibram X. Kendi about Great Replacement Theory
There is no more dangerous political idea than claiming another civilization must be annihilated to prevent the annihilation of your own civilization. This great replacement theory will lead to the annihilation of both civilizations, of all civilizations, of human civilization.
finished reading @ibramxk.bsky.social "chain of ideas".

grateful for a historian to guide my understanding.
fearful of the spread of ideas that have been around for a long time and will outlive trump when he's gone.
hopeful that we can beat them back again
Dr. Ibram X. Kendi: "To be racist is to perceive white people as eternal natives and peoples of color as eternal immigrants." Birthright citizenship opposition, ICE agents of color, and third-term ambitions all flow from the same great replacement ideology.
