For my Propspin project I decided to go with an overheat mechanism. Gun stops firing when overheated. In reality this means slower rate of fire after firing continuously for 2-3 seconds.
Still OK to be trigger happy, only a mild penalty for wasting bullets. ๐Ÿ˜„

Infinite ammo in a shooter game?

1) Player has infinite ammo, Autofire on at all times
2) Some cost involved (cooldown, limited ammo, ...), Gun fired manually

Any reasonable third option?

I like to pull the trigger myself, but at no cost it's less gratifying.

Features worse than useless

"Find References in Project" in the Unity Editor does not seem to work. It yields zero results for a texture that is definitely used in the project.

Not only is it not helpful, it makes me think I can safely delete the file. ๐Ÿค”
