This morning I’ve seen Olly Robbins’s appearance before the select committee described as ‘box office’, while a commentator flagged up another key political moment with the words ‘bring the popcorn’.
That’s one of our main problems right there.

In December last year a poll of churchgoers was reported across right wing media to try to undermine the Church of England's Project Spire reparative justice scheme. I've been looking into it and all is not as it seems.

For shame.

Human discourse is just fucked now.
He was right on this BTW. People get incredibly neurotic about missing flights because they've never missed one. Once it's happened to you (assuming you're not travelling with kids) it's annoying but fine and you start leaving/wasting less time at airports.

BRB, just telling my stockbroker to go big on Hot-Dog man memes
In 1979 I went to an early Specials gig and I got hit on the head when they were throwing demo cassettes into the crowd. I’ve still got the ska to prove it.
WOW: A stunning new report in the WSJ reveals that military advisers intentionally excluded Donald Trump from the command room during the recent high-stakes operation to extract a downed U.S. airman in Iran, because they feared his erratic behavior could jeopardize the mission. 1/
When Angela Rayner underpaid £40,000 in stamp duty, Richard Tice said it was "morally completely indefensible” and she should resign if she had “any moral decency”.
Now we learn he set up four shell companies that let him avoid paying £100,000 he owed in tax and to then transfer the cash to Reform
It’s a mark of how completely normalised the corruption & depravity have become that we barely bat an eyelid at the thought of two *property developers*, one Trump’s nepo baby son-in-law, being sent to represent the USA in peace negotiations with Iran. Sometimes it all hits you afresh.
for an idea of how big a deal this is, my mom was in great shape when she got diagnosed and she lasted less than sixty days. six years is insane.
I'm a broken record on this but the radicalisation and brain rot of Gen X/boomers is a massively under-appreciated problem
Sharon Osborne was
▶️an immigrant into the USA in the late 1970s
▶️an immigrant into Ireland in the mid 1990s
▶️an immigrant into the USA again from 2002 to 2005
▶️and then again from 2010 to 2020
She has been an immigrant for approx 48 of her 73 years

Photo of a book, Empireworld by Sathnam Sanghera. The book is on a wooden table.
Think I'm fairly well informed in terms of the horrors of British empire but this book still had many Fucking hell! moments. Balanced and nuanced throughout, not hectoring, not written to shame. Highly recommended, interesting and informative reading.
ok that's a good point

Fascinating stuff.
X has decided that "we hate Pakis we have Pakis we hate Pakis" is fine with X. Both as a general statement [to celebrate the suspension of an account he was harassing for many months] + that using "kick Pakis out of Britain" as direct personal abuse of an MP is fine too.

Trump comparing himself to Jesus while Vance tries to lecture the actual Pope on matters theological proves beyond any reasonable doubt that the ‘Christian’ element of their support is, morally & doctrinally, about as Christian as a hula hoop. Their conduct is literally unconscionable.

Not sure who needs to see this but...
He's explained that he thought he was impersonating a doctor, because that's how doctors cure people, by magic forehead touches. Sounds legit.
Lets hope jd vance campaigns for Reform in Britain
