the best piece of tech arrived today. the GB Operator by Epilogue. Got it to back up all of my Pokemon Cartridge Save Data. Especially for Pokemon Red. Didn't want to risk losing those 58+ hours.
Also let me play and stream the game on my PC directly from the cartridge too which is nice. recommend

O damn thought I posted about it here but this past weekend in brooklyn at the bookoff there. I nabbed this yellow GBP for $30 from the broken bargain bin. turns out all it needed was a new film polarizer on the screen.
so I just peeled the old burnt one off and scraped the glue off.

the CR1616 battery holder mod arrived and I got to work on desoldering the dead battery installed on August 1999 (08/1999) and after installing the holder and slotting in a CR1616, Pokemon Yellow now has the save functionality restored!

For context: All Nintendo DS models do a screen check on bootup the moment you press the power button. the console checks if both screens work and turn on if it does, it proceeds to show the startup screen.
if it fails, it immediately shuts off. Since the ribbon cable is damaged, top screen failed
yeah it's not getting past the initial bootup process (hence the bottom screen flashing while the top is off). Which means the top screen 100% needs to be replaced...yippeee..... (that's the hard part!!)
Chat, on a scale of 1-10 how FUCKED do you think this DSi's top screen is judging by the corrosion damage to the ribbon cable's pins?

having read all of Chainsaw man. I can say Part 1 was more stronger and self contained but part 2 had a hard time standing on its own trying to add in a new protagonist and continue Denji's story without the main supporting cast from part 1 which made it special.
