Looking forward to it!!

The new Ronald McDonald House going up directly next to our #medschool building. So that’s what the noise is all about 😝 #meded #Miami #GoCanes
A long table with many containers of liquid of many sizes and shapes.
#NBME test day for our #MS1 students. They aren’t allowed to have liquids or food while taking the exam. #MedEd

Happy Friday!! I went to dinner with some of our Medicine as a Profession (MAP) staff and faculty tonight after work. I’m really fortunate to work with some amazing people! We went to Hometown #Barbecue in #Allapattah #Miami #goodtimes
I don’t want to jinx anything but I’m having a productive day at work.

Brown shoes with different colored shoelaces (orange and green).
Yesterday, we had a strategic planning retreat for 2025-2030 at #MPOW. I presented with my boss to represent the office of #curriculum. The most important thing to note here is that I color coordinated my shoelaces to match #UM colors (orange and green). #gocanes #canes #universityofmiami #MedEd
to have discourse, unlike on the other platform. I ended up deactivating that account due to the abuse and now seriously rethinking (again) what’s my purpose on social media? What is THE purpose of social media? Is it to bully and demean others? No thanks.
I asked a sincere question to a commenter on an article from @npr.org posted to Bluesky (personal account). I was then bullied and harassed for it. I was called dumb, an idiot, a moron for the comment by the original commenter and others. I thought this was supposed to be a CIVIL place …

Just finished watching the magnificent A Room With a View (1985). I forgot the operatic voice was Kiri Te Kanawa - what an amazing voice.
Apparently, it’s a thing. There’s no directions for people who get a new phone to deregister their old phone first before they set up a new phone. IT helped me fix it.
I got a new phone today. As I was setting up all the apps, I opened MS Authenticator to make sure I can get into all my work accounts. It prompted me to type in a code in itself, which did nothing. It is maddening circular logic and I still can’t get it working.
Living in a #library would be very interesting. Unlike the guy in the article, I would have loved living in one as a kid. I spent hours and hours at my local library. www.atlasobscura.com/articles/gro...

University of Miami Miller School of Medicine accommodated an online cohort for our staff development day today. UM is (at the moment) open-minded about #hybrid and #remote work. #staffdevelopment
What I want to say to our leadership (and I will and have): so, you want me to come in to the office 5 days a week to close my office door and be in online meetings 8 hours a day. Do I have that right?
Today is my 1.5 year mark on the job as Director of Curriculum Operations at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine! #meded #timeflits #UM
Definitely worth a read! 'Haunted by ableism: Ghosts of the past, present, and future in medical education' - #meded #ableism I love the phrasing: "haunted curriculum of ableism" - really paints a picture. www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...
I’m sad to read this news. I worked at region 3 based at the University of Illinois at Chicago (as it was called then) for 4 years and made many lasting friendships from the experience.
Sebastian the Ibis was inducted into the Mascot Hall of Fame this year! Congratulations, Sebastian! #UniversityofMiami #UM

I enjoyed reconnecting with peers from across the country and learning from them. This is a valuable conference in that you would be hard pressed to not take away something you can learned to implement at your work.
1st of 2 days at the AAMC Information Technology in Academic Medicine conference (sponsored by the GIR) took place today. There were some unfortunate fires to put out at work while trying to pay attention to sessions I attended.

Just landed in #Minneapolis for the Information Technology in Academic Medicine conference (sponsored by the @aamctoday.bsky.social #GIR). Looking forward to learning a lot and reconnecting with friends and colleagues from across the nation. #meded #academicmedicine
It’s not excusable at this point to not fact check #AI. It’s just not. It’s not like it suddenly appeared yesterday. chicago.suntimes.com/news/2025/05...

Last week (I’m on a time delay, apparently 😆), we held our annual Curriculum Retreat at MPOW where we celebrate our wins and share our plans for improvement.
I was happy to hear from my former #MedLib colleagues that the incoming Medical #Library Association President (also a friend of mine!) included a slide in her inaugural address with my photo and said I was a positive influence on her career. Thanks, Madame President Heather Holmes!
Another unfortunate move by this administration. #libraries #librarians www.nbcnews.com/politics/tru...
