not bad but ultimately summed up with “much more interesting to talk/think about than enjoyable to watch”
i just post my anime opinions to the wind here
they were not kidding about that chobits anime ending fumble 💀
turn a was peak. extremely good. i love planet earth. i love humanity
watching frieren season 2 and turn a gundam back to back is such a whiplash in quality
but then again compared to everyone else who has watched it i seem to be in the minority
a little bit of both, i thought the setup had a lot of potential but as it progressed it kept going in the wrong direction to what i would have preferred, backtracking on much of its uniqueness. compared to the previous shows it lacked a lot of thematic meat on its bones
gundam x was very disappointing. 2nd rate kids tv show shit. sad!
Rack city was promised to us 3000 years ago
yeah the china stuff is in fact pretty bad
i’ve noticed that the people who have the least issues and dont understand all the disappointment seem to be younger fans who’ve only watched IBO and WFM and don’t have the context for all the UC references, so all of it is new to them instead of eye-rolling
like bask om shows up at the end of an episode for 3 seconds for you to point at, and has not come back since then
man gquuuuuux is p disappointing. i heard one of the creators being inspired by the cold war and i had completely forgotten about the zeon power struggles because the gundam fanservice entirely overshadows everything else by the end
man gqux really dropping the ball
Yoshizane Akihiro’s early Bug Bug covers are so good✨
final 10 episode stretch is some of the best i’ve seen
yeah it’s a masterpiece
almost done with it but i think haibane renmei might be my new fav anime
one of the other parts that gets dropped for quite a while is new nation’s gundam of week, which was another of my favorite parts, but it picks back up once the tournament arc starts
over halfway through and into the tournament arc. unfortunately a lot of my fav parts (like the environmental themes) are dropped past the first few episodes. it’s still incredibly breezy, barely has a boring moment in it, very skillfully done.
A very judicious, useful review that persuades me to at least CONSIDER switching from Fowkes to the new one at least for teaching (tho I shudder at the idea of losing some of my fave moments of 19th c. language, rhetorical flair, and gothic excess!)
can’t believe i found another person who likes zeta the least
However much you hate the New York Times, it isn't enough
i prefer they didn’t remake any of the games but if they had to do one i would rather they did SH1 than SH2
its way more evil now but at least nowadays if your content algo doesn't show you celebrity bullshit you have to search it out, whereas back when there was a monoculture you had a much harder time opting out of seeing that stuff on the tv
yeah all of the really fun stuff is locked away and you cant access any reproduction of it
