Hugely appreciated by me (and probably widely under-appreciated) – the option of NOT having an algorithmic feed in my UI...!!!

Thank you @jay.bsky.team @bsky.app !

As some people have already noticed, one can access the web app at its proper URL now: https://bsky.app

The staging URL will continue to work for a while, so no urgent need to move over.

And, yes... that implies creating "echo chambers"... but I think people need to have protected "home" turf(s)... from which to explore differences... sort of structured territoriality that's naturally provided in the physical world.

Contexts are defined more by sets of people (identities) than topics. A true cultural context needs a degree of coherence (of shared meanings/values) that you won't get from a #politics tag. I expect AI-driven algorithms to be able to help with that sort of value (shared meaning) based contexts.

Wonder if, instead of the tool-centered concept of "algorithmic choice" (filtering)... we start talking about "context builders"... since "choice" is always rooted in... and sustaining... contexts. The freedom to build your personal/group "echo chamber"... :)
