to Motorsport Charles talks about his final laps at the monza GP: “just like in 2019, the last 3, 4, 5 laps it was quite difficult to keep the eyes on the track. I was obviously looking a little bit in the grandstand, i could see everybody was standing up and that was really nice to see!”

📈 #Leclerc's stint vs #Piastri's two stints on the hards. Impressive how Charles manages such a long stint to perfection. Zero collapse, pace adjusted to the tenth to have the right amount of rubber at the end of the race. +

Ferrari thought they had consistency for the scenario: PLAN A was to stop later however Leclerc executed PLAN B which was to anticipate the single stop (cheating the 2 stops). Only PLAN C was the 2-stop backup in case of collapse

“For Lando, we had a lock up on the front left, so the tyre was going, and we had to go for a two stop. Leclerc did a great job and drove a great race.”

Charles: “I don’t think Oscar overtaking Lando at the start would’ve changed much, as I believe I could’ve stuck with Lando.”

I tried to put Lando under pressure to pit, and then when Oscar pitted, the car got much better. I could rotate how I wanted, and I knew the win was possible.”

“One stop was our preferred choice before the race, but everybody doubted after seeing graining on the Red Bull at the beginning. However when I put the hard, I had a good feeling.+
