It was international and involved multiple airlines, but travel nightmares do happen.

My most stressful missed flight event was having a traveling companion lock our luggage in an apartment in Vienna at 5am. Cost over a $1000 to rebook, and involved talking to a Delta representative back in the states for about an hour. Had to run thru the terminal to catch the next flight.
