“Longevity” is related to this and resonates with me. That’s what put me on to Obsidian a few years ago. Many people have had the pain of migrating because an app or service died or deteriorated in quality. ATproto offers a solution to this for social apps

As a non-techy ATproto user, people already understand closed app ecosystems like Google Drive. “What if google allowed anyone to make a docs or slides or spreadsheet app that worked in the ecosystem?” But for social apps and no google overlord
