Cartoon of a bear looking at exit signs, saying "They're fine, I guess", with the caption "Exit, perused by a bear". Instead of pursued. From Shakespeare. Let me have this.

All documents filed for a US patent must have copyright asserted and assigned to the Libary of Congress, which must never allow copies. So all patent searches must be conducted in person, both before and after filing.

I'm told the Vulcan had a tendency to float on the ground layer as well, and essentially had to be flown into the runway. I hope noone was daft enough to try a deck landing with one of those...

I have to wonder what this will do to the morale of the individual crew members, if *they* will get the message, and if the message will be spread at those levels of organisation or rank.

Interesting.

When I did my (UK) A-level examinations (a long time ago) I was also allowed to sit a more advanced competitive exam called an S-level.

Not sure if these are related... 🤔

Absolutely tragic, and even more so that I have the nasty feeling any lessons have been forgotten by the current US command levels. Which is one just reason it's still worth remembering.

But you're right, probably not best as a response to this original post.

Meanwhile, explorers in the south of England have discovered a camouflaged site containing DUKW amphibious trucks and modified swimming Sherman tanks.

An emergency debate is being scheduled to decide if they should be made available to the US.

Scientists uncovered the nutrients bees were missing - Colonies surged 15-fold

A lab-made diet supercharged bee colonies and could help save our food supply.

Date:

March 27, 2026

Source:

University of Oxford

Summary:

Scientists have developed a breakthrough "superfood" for honeybees by engineering yeast to produce the essential nutrients normally found in pollen. In controlled tri-als, colonies fed this specially designed diet produced up to 15 times more young, showing a dramatic boost in reproduction and overall health. As climate change and modern agriculture reduce the availability of natural pollen, this innovation could offer a practical way to support struggling bee populations.

Two different fingerprints wouldn't qualify either. But a password and a fingerprint would.

2 factor authentication. You have to authenticate using two different methods, if one is compromised you attacker has to get the other compromised as well using different methods.

Important to realise that, for example, two passwords does not count because it's equivalent to one longer password. /
