It's astonishing how many tech conferences charge steep ticket prices (€100–€1200) yet refuse to reimburse travel or accommodation for their speakers.

Canceled multiple speaking "requests" because of this. I don’t need your money but at least cover my costs instead of turning it into a cash grab.
