Is it possible that these are fucking terrible pro wrestlers who have been getting the benefit of the doubt due to likeability and whatever magic they had on long time viewers has just worn off?

The talent just isn't there for it anymore.
For whatever reason, I thought this match wouldn't hold up for me, but it did and I ended up writing a five star review. It's absolutely incredible. I was taken aback by the crowd, they are so into *every* little thing, not just the finishers.
I don't know how these two have managed to con indie wrestling for as long as they have.
I watched Effy vs Allie Katch out of morbid curiosity. It was terrible but not even in a fun way. There was zero heat, they whiffed on about a dozen spots and they did the "why am I so violent? I can't hurt my best friend" to top it all off, as if that wasn't the most tired trope in all of wrestling
I hope Jack Swagger shouting "fuck you Tony Khan" at the CTE show will serve as a lesson the next time someone asks Tony if their boy can have a job. You don't need to be a people pleaser to the point where you're hiring washouts who have no respect for you or the company.
NJPW frustrated me with Yota Tsuji because they pushed him in the most conventional way possible, even though it would have been ideal to give him an unexpected title win. You gotta take a risk sometimes and say "no, this guy needs to do things differently".
I like Darby's win because it sets him apart from everyone else who will win that title. He may lose the thing in a month but for the rest of his career he'll be the guy who destroyed Max for the title without breaking a sweat. That's cool. It makes him unique among the other headliners.
Didn't have to stay up long.
I've stayed up very late just to watch Darby Vs Max, as this match is simply too big to risk being spoiled.
Jon Moxley vs Will Ospreay was really good. I Love a match built around an injury, and love it more playing into the finish. I Especially love a babyface not being able to hug their kids and getting blindsided because they were too busy being nice to someone.
I was watching Godzilla vs Mothra, 1992, and I was thinking this entry had some of the weaker minature shots, until they dropped this bad boy:
I like how they went back to the formula of putting you in a maze, with locked doors, and monsters you have to avoid or fight as you travel back and forth. That's the recipe for some good claustrophobia.
The new Resident Evil looks terrifying. I played the old games, which were nerve-wracking enough (especially 2) but the level of stress the new ones put you under look to be too much for my fragile soul.
"Bro, that AEW, it's got tha momentum of a runaway freight train bro, tell me how you're so popular bro."
Tony Khan will listen to two guys beg for jobs tomorrow.
"... and about a million in hard work ๐"
I'm amazed AI fights aren't a big thing yet.
The vibe of these fights reminds me exactly of Slapfight, Real American Freestyle and TKO's UFC. All of it reeks of grifter culture: Slop that's only purpose is to trick you into paying for it. Just a bunch of shit fights surrounded by promotion for crypto tokens.
Napoleon did a sick job with this video. I never follow this influencer stuff so I was unaware the degree to which these guys are doing bogus stat padding. Obviously, I shouldn't be surprised.

The New Japan Cup got off to a bad start (with one really boneheaded booking decision) but ultimately produced about six really sick matches and a great finale. Don't recall the last NJC where I was this into it. Would have been the 2010s.
I was disappointed when NJPW broke the Shota Umino and Yuya Uemura tag team, as Shota had been struggling massively as a singles wrestler since Jan 2024. But he's been terrific in the NJ Cup, and I put it down to the fact that he has long pants again. The more he covers his legs, the better he is.
It's incredible how you can go on twitter right now and find hundreds of people falsely claiming Meltzer to be in the pocket of AEW, including actual former wrestlers and well known personalities. Meanwhile, WWE has open partnerships with sports outlets and none of these people care or say anything.
It'll probably be the most over segment on the show and I will hate it.
My guess is that Hangman doesn't turn heel. I'm actually picturing a much more annoying scenario where the undercard babyfaces beg him to beat the top heel for the title. The sad cowboy anguishes over the decision but the crowd ultimately spurs him on to take up the fight.
Since I'm on the topic I'll say that the spring and summer of 2023 was the lowest point for the product. A lot of really terrible ideas and the quality of Dynamite took a big hit when Collision debuted.
2021 had incredible hype and a sense of "being on the winning team", but its easy to forget that the product had some very weak aspects as well. A comparison of an average Dynamite card in 2021 vs 2025 really illustrates this.
From April 2025 to now has been the best year long stretch for AEW in my opinion. The depth is unbelievable and the product has been good and consistent and rewarding.
Revolution was great. It was a very heelish PPV, but one where no fan could really feel cheated afterwards. That's hard to pull off (look at decades of TNA and WCW shows). So, good finishes and good booking over all. Thumbs up.
I think he's been hugely beneficial for almost everyone in the DCF, especially Fletcher. Takeshita is the only guy I think who isn't really benefitting anymore, but that's more on AEW for taking too long to turn him face.
