So much for the personal endorsement of Trumple and JD.

VIKING RADIO JINGLES - 1984 - CATH BAXTER

I love it when you stumble across a part of your life long forgotten.

I spent a year playing these on the radio when I first moved to Hull in the mid eighties.

Cath Baxter composed and arranged the most amazing idents package I ever used on air as a presenter.

Played these on air at the time, nice to hear them in stereo too. From memory, they were broadcast in mono at the time, as BBC LR didn't have stereo cart players until a few years later.

Wow, who knew the BBC was closing its Weather department?

Perhaps worthy of a mention. A brilliant leader and the woman behind C4's original looks and the modernisation of the BBC's on screen look too.

Pam Masters: a key figure in modern British television presentation - Clean Feed Pam Masters, whose death has been announced, was probably the single most important person in the story of modern British television presentation.

I was saddened to read this. Pam took me on as a Network Director in the 90's, with no tv experience whatsoever. The all female management team (with Janet Hoenig and Sandy Maeer) were inspiring to work for and I spent 11 very happy years at TVC as a result.

Not a known name, but what a tv legend.

Turns out it was the GB public that voted for this refreshed look for bank notes. The very same voters who'll no doubt be delighted at how little Fartage cares about using a democratic process in decision making.

The league club deals that allow broadcast local radio coverage in their areas specifically ban those stations carrying online streams of the games. The clubs want to monetise the streamed commentaries for themselves.
From memory, I think FA Cup matches are allowed.

When the iPlayer was first being built, the BBC floated the idea of opening it up to other UK PS broadcasters. As I recall, they rejected it flat out saying their own platforms would be better.
Cue several years of those other platforms failing, being renamed and suffering ongoing glitches.

It was, at PMQ's... Fatarge chose to ignore it completely, apart from pulling faces.

I wonder just how long the BBC News channel will continue to endlessly repeat their 12 sec clip of the arrest?
Its almost as if nobody there is actually watching the output!

Great team performance from the final pair, although the commentators appeared to have written off Tabitha Stoeckers run as really poor. Shameful of them to have been so dismissive of her before the event had concluded.

Ah, ok - so reporters must adhere to your agenda. Fair enough, you carry on believing you must be right.

I'll carry on looking for a range of views on which to base an opinion for myself.

Have a good night.

There's nothing I can find being reported by any reputable UK news outlet on this, just online speculation.

Perhaps its because journalists who've actually looked at the files have concluded the 40 or so mentions don't actually amount to a news worthy story.

It's not always a conspiracy.

Sorry, where does it say this is in the BBC's control? The BBC don't decide UK Gvt policy on use of broadcast frequencies. If Parliament decides to shutdown terrestrial tv transmitters, it affects all broadcasters using them, equally.
Stop making this look like its the BBC's choice.

I so hope the Beeb have got the rights secured for years to come... can't stand the idea of ITV swooping in with Ant or Dec hosting from a castle dungeon in Papua New Guinea, wearing black fringes.

The US president, the one with bone spurs and no military record, also appears to have no knowledge about his own countries combat action within NATO, let alone the ultimate sacrifice of hundreds of service personal from the other countries supporting them.

Appalling conduct from a convicted felon.

What a strange post to make. If you don't want to see tv spoilers, don't look at social media and don't follow a tv critic.

Profile now blocked, just in case you're worried, it’ll save you following me and then unfollowing me.

I guess when Trumple said he could sort out the Ukraine/Russia war in one day, he just forgot which day he was talking about.

It's time the world put him to one side and stopped trying to appease the orange idiot.

To be fair Scott, if they turn out to be the BBC's worst, given they had most of the top ten shows on Christmas Day, what does it say for all the rest?
