Just caught wind of an ERP vendor that accidentall upgraded their live web app to the latest version instead of the preproduction testbed, and it introduced major bugs that are still not yet resolved. The ERP company responsed with... "Ooops."

What is it with today and people overreacting to #SQLServer vague monitoring tools?

At what point do we start looking for some niche no-name email provider just so we aren't AWOL from cloud outages?

What's the point of reporting an email as phishing if it can't even block subsequent emails from that account?

Interesting. An HCI company wants a client to sign an NDA before they authorize connectivity to external storage. That doesn't quite pass the sniff test.

Remember to watch the watchers. A different #SQLServer group at a mutual client was just caught adding an unauthorized index to a critical table. It caused cascading blocking and took down a critical system last night. This was after it was stressed to NOT make changes without ISV written approval.

Isn't cloud XaaS supposed to be pay by consumption? Why would a cloud provider set an artificial limit far too low to be usable, then you need to beg them to increase the limit so you can actually use it as intended?

It's pretty amazing how insistent the OS vendors are at pushing AI-driven nonsense down our throats... I don't need your AI app pinned to my desktop, launch bar, anything.

There's something surreal about watching a company spend a significant amount of staff time to make a platform change because an AI model says a piece of hardware should be running faster than it is (or can).

I love irony. I just got a report of someone rebuilding a #SQLServer monitoring tool's deadlock tracking table because... of... deadlocks.

Due to the poor state of the (paved) roads here, I actually aired down the tires to make a drive to the store today.
