🎉 Congratulations to our PhD student Feyza for winning the Poster Prize for “Investigating Tetragonal Tungsten Bronze Structures for Na⁺ Battery Applications” at the International Conference on Sustainable Chemistry for Net Zero 2025 in St Andrews! 🏆🌍
Well done, Feyza! 👏
Excellent work by Astrid H. Berge, demonstrating the clever application of ssNMR and DNP, which exploits both endogenous and exogenous dopants for the detection of specific impurities or the separation of bulk versus surface/subsurface phases in Al-LLZO. pubs.acs.org/doi/full/10.... #NMRchat
A new paper, 'Transferability of Data Sets between Machine-Learned Interatomic Potential Algorithms' led by Dr. Sam Niblett is now available in J. Chemical Theory and Computation. Huge congratulations to Sam and all the collaborators! 👏👏https://pubs.acs.org/doi/full/10.1021/acs.jctc.5c00272

Two days of excellent sciences and heartfelt memories (old and new). The Grey-hounds/friends coming together for this occasion is the direct testimonial of Clare’s unmatched guidance, contagious curiosity and dedication for the science. happy birthday Clare 🎉🎊🥳
After day1 of super exciting talks delivered by eminent speakers, looking forward for the day2. It was a delight to hear the impact Clare has made on everyone’s life at professional/personal level. Celebrating her accomplishments and contribution by sharing one thing she likes most the ‘science’. 🎉🎊
We are all set for 2 day ‘Clare Grey Symposium’. Looking forward to meet all the friends and alumni of the group 🎊
My first lead author paper is now live
@pubs.acs.org Chemistry of Materials! We solve the structure of the first desodiated phase in NaxNiO2 (x=2/3) via X-ray/neutron diffraction, solid state NMR, and DFT/AIMD. Ni charge- and Na vacancy-ordering play an important role!

Paid internships for undergraduate students from a UK university: We are excited to announce that this year as well we will be hosting several interns under @FaradayInst Fuse scheme for battery projects. Please check the link www.faraday.ac.uk/fuse-interns... and spread the word 🥼🧪🔋
Happy 60th birthday to Clare🎉🎊🥳 we wish you best of health and all the success of this world !!!
Our latest experiment was the cat's μ!
We just wrapped up in-/ex-situ μ-SR on EMU @isisneutronmuon.bsky.social! We're looking into sodium dynamics in the phases which form when NaNiO2 is electrochemically cycled, and could even measure whilst dis/charging thanks to the Battery and Muon cell!
We wish all the best to our Postoc Marie Juramy, PhD Student Nadia Farag and RA Benjamin Charmes as they are off to new chapters in their professional life. 🎉🥳🎊You all will be immensely missed in the group.
Congratulations to Prof. Dame Clare Grey who was honored today at the 2025 Richard R. Ernst Lecture for her contributions in the field of battery research

New YouTube clickbait thumbnail acquired! ✅ Oh, and data too. Lots and lots of data... We just wrapped up our latest BAG session at @diamondlightsource.bsky.social I-11, where we measured operando SXRD during battery cycling. We're able to watch structures evolve in real time during charging!
We wish Holly Smith all the best, as she says goodbye to us for her exciting career in Science education. Thank you, Holly, for all your hard work in Grey group's outreach activities over the year. 👩🔬🥼🧪🎉🎊
