Sure feels like it must be very bad, as mostly she doesn't seem to care much what's said.
My final title, SHE HAD ENOUGH by Stacie Grey centers on a group of women friends and the secrets they hold when one of them goes missing. #ewgc
INDIE DARLING by Lauren Nossett was a nice surprise of a mystery - set in Nashville and introducing PI Kelly Williams. Nicely done. #ewgc
For the Finley Donovan readers, DON'T CROSS MO ELLERY by Birdie Horne may hit the spot. Mo lost her boyfriend of ten years and her job on the same day. So she moves out and takes a job as a crossing guard. Only to witness murder and be talked into investigating, while caring for three poodles. #ewgc
A woman with a seemingly perfect life chafes instead and starts an affair that leads to forged art and murder in THE FINE ART OF LYING by Alexandra Andrews. #ewgc
I think you'll really enjoy. #ewgc
Book cover of Rules for Aging and Larceny
Julia London, known for her historical romance, has written a contemporary heist caper/reunited friends novel in RULES FOR AGING AND LARCENY. This one may end up in my top ten for the year. Funny and bittersweet and adventurous and lovely. #ewgc
Kings of Vegas book cover
KINGS OF VEGAS by Karen Mack and Jennifer Kaufman would make a great vacation read. Josie King's father has died and left his casino to her and her siblings. The catch is they have to work together for three years. Mobsters, the FBI, and a rival casino owner complicate Josie's life. #ewgc
THE GEOMAGICIAN by Jennifer Mandula is a fantasy historical that will appeal to fans of Marie Brennan's Lady Trent series. #ewgc
A famous children's book author is celebrating her 70th birthday at her home in Cornwall, while dealing with a documentary crew, a threat to reveal all her secrets, and a dead body on the beach in BASED ON A TRUE STORY by Sarah Vaughan. #ewgc
CITY OF PROMISES brings Victoria Thompson's two series together in the latest in her Counterfeit Lady series - finished by her daughter (I believe). Not sure there will be more, but happy to have read this. #ewgc
Did not know there was a new Chambers! Clicking now. #ewgc
DAGGERBOUND by T. Kingfisher was everything I wanted in a sequel to SWORDHEART. So, so good. #ewgc
Historical romance publishing has been waning (mostly due to romantasy, I'd guess), but Julie Anne Long remains an autoread and rightfully so. GAME OF ROGUES is a wonderfully witty, emotionally satisfying story of two honorable people finding each other. So very nice. #ewgc
Post WWII 1950s seems to be a popular new historical time period for mysteries. THE OXFORD GUIDE TO SCANDAL & LIES by Kate Westbury is set at Oxford (natch!) in 1951 and introduces a coupld of students hired on by MI5 to uncover communist spies - and murder occurs. #ewgc
I'm a big chicken when it comes to horror, but this one looks good and I may give it a try - reading it in broad daylight and leaving lots of hours between stopping reading and going to bed, of course. #ewgc
Three Reasons for Revenge book cover
Dervla McTiernan's newest is a thriller set in Melbourne and she never fails to impress. THREE REASONS FOR REVENGE is a taut, tough read and I loved it. #ewgc
I thought it perfect as well, and I was watching from the end of the 2nd from the front row. Would love to see it again from a more comfortable, better vantage point. #ewgc
Before book talk, anyone watch anything good lately? I need distraction of any kind. I loved PROJECT HAIL MARY movie and cannot wait for THE OTHER BENNET SISTER on BritBox (loved the book). How 'bout you? #ewgc
Same, same. We literally had a blizzard a couple weeks ago that dumped a couple feet of snow. #ewgc
Hello #ewgc. Doing well here with a nice sunny spring day.
Agreed. And though I thought the ending was a bit abrupt, reading this one sent me in pursuit of her backlist - many of which I've enjoyed as well. #ewgc
#bookmail is the best way to start the day. Thanks @penguinrandomhouse.bsky.social! Now, how to decide what to read first. Thoughts?
Sorry that bsky was being glitchy, but loved what I was able to see of #ewgc. Next up for me will be one of these:
CASH AND GRAVITY by Perrin Pring is SF and western rolled into one centering on a high-stakes chase against a future gritty American West. #ewgc
THE LOST SPECTACULAR is magical and romantic and lovely and imagines a traveling event where all the lost things in the world can be found. #ewgc
Loved, loved, MOSS'D IN SPACE by Rebecca Thorne. Space ships, aliens and talking moss. Such a delightful surprise of a book. #ewgc
The Hotel Orient is a real place in Vienna where the staff take no names and ask no questions. MURDER AT THE HOTEL ORIENT is set there, but everything else in this queer murder mystery is made up (or is it?, they'll never tell) #ewgc
