I'd love to do that if it would lower my rate, but frankly their whole registration process works so terribly that I'm afraid if I give it the tiniest push I'll lose things I need. Actually getting signed up in the first place was painful, which is hard to believe.

I have to pay for shitty Microsoft products every year, but it's a pittance compared to what Adobe charges.

...Also, the great prog bands, crucially, had some of the world's best drummers (Phil Collins, Bill Bruford, Barriemore Barlow). Take them away and what have you got?

I'm not even a little curious to hear these orchestral renditions of prog-rock "classics." I don't think I've ever heard one I've liked. Prog-rock is *rock*—that's the whole point. I guess it's possible to do a good orchestral version of, say, "Harold the Barrel" (Genesis), but it seems unlikely.

More than $800/year, every year*, just to use their products, which I'm only allowed to rent and not buy.

*Though the price will keep going up

It's rare to see such universal agreement. Everyone hates them.

...Adobe has a monopoly on the basic tools that photographers and graphic designers need, and at the prices the company charges they're practically a luxury product. You can no longer purchase Adobe software outright, though I shudder to think how much they'd charge if you could.

My Adobe "subscription" price has just increased to $69.99/month (plus applicable taxes).

Adobe: "We've heard the universal outcry about our usurious rates, and we've responded by...raising them even higher."

How did I never know about "love-bombing"? Fascinating phenomenon that I think I may have been subjected to at one time.

God grant me the gravitas and intellectual rigor exhibited by the US commerce secretary.

Bleecker Bob famously did that. Everything in the store alphabetized by the first letter. (Avoided the controversy over Alice Cooper, for example.) That's the first place I ever saw that.

It's computers generally. Sorting by first name is trivial. Sorting by last name (which includes figuring out what the last name is) is really hard.

I saw a youngish guy carrying an umbrella in the sun yesterday and was surprised. Not the usual demographic. (I can't do that on my bike.)

Yeah, screw this stuff. Especially at a time when we're battling against a fascist takeover.

He's "transgressive." Also, there were some actual neo-Nazis in that scene.

Tweet from Pete Hegseth: “The @USNavy is correct. More FAKE NEWS from the Pharisee Press.

My team confirmed the logistics stats for the Lincoln & Tripoli. Both have 30+ days of Class I supplies (food) on board. NavCent monitors this everyday, for every ship.

Our sailors deserve — and receive — the best.”

The US Secretary of Defense is going full mask-off antisemite. “Pharisee Press” is the modern equivalent of the German Lügenpresse.

This wink-wink serial-killer fetishization sucked when it became a big thing in the '80s (in the "industrial culture" scene, for one thing), and it sucks more that people are still doing it forty years later.

The myth persists that the left is a bunch of overly sensitive babies and the right is a bunch of rough, tough dudes, but the truth is that right-wingers will whine endlessly and sue you at the teensiest slight.

...Yesterday was supposed to be overcast, so no sunscreen. But it was sunny! So I got a mild sunburn and also couldn't get any decent photos because of the difficult light.
