Such an extraordinary resource and the political education on Arab radicalism, the long reach of western imperialism and the centrality of Palestine that we all need in this conjuncture. The podcast was already monumental - thank you @thedigradio.bsky.social, Abdel Razzaq Takriti & all involved!
the legacy of the Latin American liberation theology hits hard
A monstrously comprehensive nearly three hour long episode of @thedigradio.bsky.social examining the economic warfare dimensions of the US-Israeli war on Iran and Iran’s asymmetric response with Aslı Bâli, @yarbatman.bsky.social, and Nicholas Mulder. www.thedigradio.com/podcast/econ...
Yesterday I taught a class that included a reading on concentration camps & other forms of Nazi horror. We quickly got to present-day US.
Some were super well informed about ICE. Others, at least 1 of whom was learning about Nazi Germany for the first time*, just sat there with open jaws.
Framing abortion as "healthcare" or "choice" alone isn't enough anymore. We need to be able to articulate why & how, when someone is grappling with CoL, rent, having enough food for their kids [...]- abortion, LGBTQI & migrant rights are not separate from those struggles. 9/
It is part of the 'Archiving the Tricontinental' series of Archive Stories, which explores relations of solidarity, resistance, and struggle across the Third World. I really do love Archive Stories, project curated by Sara Salem and Mai Taha and recommend everyone to delve into the website!
Happy to see my piece published in Archive Stories. I talk about how documents and archival practices mediated the formation of political power for the rondas campesinas, a grassroots peasant organisation in the Peruvian Andes archive-stories.com/To-raise-one...

In 2024, we were awarded a Modern Endangered Archives Program grant (UCLA) to preserve the archive of the Federación Provincial de Rondas Campesinas de Chota, a historic peasant organisation in Peru. Here, I outline the work we have undertaken so far and explain why preserving this archive matters.
So working as designed then.
My second article based on my PhD research has just been published in Social Science and Medicine.
This article explores how mothers raising children with congenital impairments caused by the Zika virus navigate health systems and negotiate access to care.

If you don’t see the link between ICE and the IDF, you haven’t been paying attention. We are being asked to accept a world where whole communities are made disposable and marked for disappearance. If we accept that for anyone, no one is safe anywhere.
So shameful and just indicative of their barbaric complicity that some of the most powerful nations in the world didn’t not recognise Palestine as a nation and will only do when Gaza is at the brink of full occupation.
. @npr.org is one of the only US national news organizations that still has a reporter inside Gaza, Anas Baba, and he keeps reporting even though he himself is starving. This piece is unbelievably powerful.

The decimation of life in Gaza is a reproductive genocide. It was a privilege to work with Hala Shoman on our commentary 'No justice in a genocide: sexual and reproductive health and rights in Gaza' in Sexual and Reproductive Health Matters www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....
Difficult to express how I feel about those in our politics and media who are more concerned about what some rapper said at Glastonbury than fact that, as a matter of deliberate policy, the Israeli government is paying mercenaries to murder starving civilians for fun.
www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Israeli officers and soldiers have revealed they’ve been ordered to deliberately shoot at unarmed Palestinians trying to get aid.
That’s in Israeli newspaper Haaretz.
Israel is deliberately massacring civilians it’s deliberately starving.
There are few crimes more depraved.
So true. On so many levels. From literally dumping US garbage in faraway places (eg, Indonesia) to all kinds of other shit
Muy pronto, el 10, 11 y 12 de junio, empieza este Film Series sobre extractivismo en América Latina que venimos organizando junto a Gianfranco Selgas.
