The easiest way to save money is to cut disability funding.
Well that’s what Jim Chalmers thinks.

If I had a dollar for every time a NSW anti-protest law was ruled unconstitutional, I’d have $2 in just the last 6 months.
Huge shoutout to the advocacy groups for fighting back for our basic rights.
The Minns’ government needs to be held accountable for diminishing our right to protest.
The out of control fire at Geelong’s oil refinery shows us the risks that aging out fossil fuels pose to
- workers and surrounding communities
- energy production
The 70+ yr old refinery has needed regular maintenance, making it clear that we need to phase out fossil fuels and invest in renewables.
Angus Taylor doesn’t want to bring back 2016; he wants to bring back 1901, when the White Australia policy began.
Taylor believes “Australia is changing for the worse” because of “subversive” migrants and noted that those fleeing Gaza from the genocide that the Coalition supports are “high risk”.
Albo’s happy to spend $20 million on an ad to tell people to save fuel but can’t spend 20 seconds to answer a question on taxing gas exports which would raise $17 billion and reduce people’s cost of living stresses.
We need our major parties to address the
- $15 BILLION in subsidies given to fossil fuel companies EVERY year and
- implementation of a 25% tax on gas exports that would raise $17 BILLION every year
.
The Coalition and the Albanese government are arguing over whether a $20 million ad calling for motorists to use less fuel is useful.
Research shows these ads don’t work but ultimately them arguing doesn’t address the real issue.
A reminder that the government's fossil fuel subsidies are growing faster than funding for NDIS, hitting $16.3 billion in 2025-26.
Trump threatens a genocide and Albo’s response is:
“I don’t think it’s appropriate to use language such as that….I think it will cause some concern”.
Anyone know where to buy the man a spine?
This article highlights something really important: it is absolutely bonkers how many massive, energy + water hungry data centres are being built in Sydney suburbs that are already subject to worsening climate impacts and heat island effects. They'll make both worse
Ah thank you for sharing!!! Am so honoured
To the One Nation voters who believe Pauline Hanson cares about “real Australians”, Hanson spends her time
- advocating for a war criminal and
- taking free rides from billionaire Gina Rineheart.
Hanson is not interested in the cost of living issues affecting us every day.
So Albo really made the National Address just so he could say did one huh?
Kanye gets to headline a festival after his anti semitism/racism, Chris Brown gets to do a world tour after his abuse, Leo DiCaprio gets to date young women as a “joke.”
Chappell Roan is cancelled for a random security guard yelling at a child, Zara Larsson a $3m brand deal for supporting abortion.
My reaction to Albo’s address to the nation
Israeli forces have killed over 70 THOUSAND Palestinians since Oct 2023, including 260 journalists.
Yet, yesterday, the National Press Club platformed Israel's ambassador to Australia, Hillel Newman.
Newman used his speech to justify the discriminatory death penalty on Palestinians.
“We need to see the Albanese government take the courage to stand up for young people and the Australian community, rather than offering band-aid solutions” writes @varshayajman.bsky.social, a lawyer, writer and advocate.

The fuel crisis is a good time to question our over-reliance on expensive, dirty fossil fuels.
We have the alternatives; now we need our government to invest in cheap, sustainable, renewable energy and in increasing EVs, rather than polluting fossil fuels.
National Press Club platforming Israeli ambassador - knowing IDF killed 250+ journalists - for lunch chat. In the same week Israel admits doctoring Lebanese journalist image after murder. Disgraceful & dystopian yet somehow still shamelessly in full view, to be broadcast on ABC
Cheap/free transport shouldn't be just during a crisis.
QLD's 50 cent fare transport had 92% of its residents' support and led to an almost 20% increase in public transport use in less than 2 years.
It's about reducing the cost of living, traffic, and our reliance on expensive, dirty fossil fuels.
ABC's Managing Director, Mark Hughes, says staff must choose between “audience suffering”
or
a pay rise in line with inflation, job security, and a no-Al policy.
Hughes misses that free and fair reporting is only possible with fair pay, job security and human creativity.
Oh my gosh
Even better reason to pay their staff instead of wasting that much money on censorship!
Right now, beer drinkers and university students pay more tax than polluting gas companies.
A 25% tax on gas exports would raise $17 BILLION, helping relieve the cost-of-living stress and rising fuel prices.
It’s time for the Albanese government to tax billion dollar gas companies.
ABC News staff are striking tomorrow, as its managing director, Hugh Marks, said a 3.5% pay rise was "both sustainable and financially responsible".
Inflation sits at 3.8%, and in 2025, the ABC spent over $1.1 MILLION to unlawfully terminate Antoinette Lattouf for posting on the Gaza genocide.
One Nation is just a party of “stunts and the vibe”, says the Albanese government.
But One Nation is becoming mainstream, signalling deeper issues of literacy, a lack of trust in current parties and fascism.
We can’t keep discounting One Nation when it’s spewing extremist and dangerous ideologies.
Fossil fuels are fueling floods in NT’s Katherine and QLD’s Cyclone Narrelle, causing devastating impacts on communities.
Instead of investing in these communities, the Albanese government just approved a 20 year expansion of a coal seam gas project, adding 120 million tonnes of carbon emissions.
Under the law, technology monitoring of phones and laptops is only allowed when a suspect has committed a serious offence or one punishable by 3 years' imprisonment. The NSW Police have been invading the privacy of suspects who have committed offences that only carry a financial penalty.
NSW Police are overusing intrusive technology, finds the Commonwealth ombudsman.
Given the police’s support for neo Nazis and horrific brutality just a month ago, where’s the inquiry into the NSW Police @chrisminnsmp.bsky.social?
Lots of talk about Timmy losing the Oscar, but not about Palestinian actor Motaz Malhees' being unable to attend the Oscars due to Trump's travel ban on Palestinians.
Malhees was in the Oscar nominated 'The Voice of Hind Rajab', a docudrama about a Palestinian girl killed by the IDF in Gaza.
A confusing time to live in.
QLD Police arrested two protestors calling for the liberation of Palestinians.
Meanwhile, our PM and Premiers welcomed Israeli President Herzog with open arms, even though he’s committing a genocide as we speak.
