It’s fun. Just please don’t expect The Killer. This is late era John Woo who’s very different from Hard Boiled era John Woo. But it’s still a good time if you don’t compare.

When Donnie Yen finally hangs up being an actor, I can see him having a much better late-stage career than Jackie Chan.
Jackie is making fluff for a quick paycheck. I think Donnie will continue to direct great action films. He just needs to find the right talent.

When it comes to the number of fights, yes. The Prosecutor is much, MUCH better though.

I watched THE PROSECUTOR (2025) last night. Easily Donnie Yen’s finest work as a director. I absolutely loved it.
Do NOT go in expecting Flashpoint or Raging Fire. This is a legal thriller with a few action sequences. The action is amazing though. It feels fresh and more age appropriate for Donnie.

None of them are in the Shawscope sets.

Yes!! Welcome to the cool kid club! Hard Boiled is universally loved and I understand why but The Killer just has something extra about it. It’s the atmosphere of the film.
Plus, the church shootout is my favourite shootout of all time.

I decided to finally buy Audition today. I don’t actually know if I’ve ever seen it. I mean, I know the twist and I’ve seen the really gruesome bit but I don’t actually know what happens in the film. I don’t really know the plot.

Has anyone got a totally legal copy of Pantyhose Hero they want to totally legally upload and totally legally send to me?

I preferred Terrifier 2’s gore but part 3 is the best overall film, I think. Part 2 is crueler.

I was not a fan. I think it’s because I don’t have nostalgia for it. I didn’t grow up with it. As a film, it’s pretty awful.

#NowWatching Kingdom (2019)

I’v been promising myself to watch these for years but I’ve just never gotten around to it.
I’m kicking off 2025 right by finally getting to them.

Be forewarned - it’s a goofy comedy and not a flat out action film. It does have very good action though.

Legendary martial artist, actor, stuntman, stunt coordinator and, at one time, bodyguard to the stars, Richard Norton, turns 75 today.
Norton needs to be given his flowers. He’s always had an amazing on screen presence.
Here he is whooping Andy Lau and Cynthia Rothrock in Magic Crystal (1986).
