so back in 2020 I started thinking about the ocean.
I'm not even sure where it came from. I live in a landlocked part of my country. But I just became obsessed with it. It started influencing my art, my music.
Even amongst all that... i just could not stop thinking about ocea and her world.
I went on a hiatus from creating and streaming. Life got busy, work got hard.
But i kept coming back to this world, time and time again. Even after my stream hiatus kept getting longer and longer, I wasn't bouncing back from the burnout of my day job and other life stresses...
No part of this city was truly good or bad, black or white, just grey. A complicated place with complicated history. Ocea always felt somehow stuck between the ups and the down, the upper levels and the lower harbours, the city and the ocean. I called this story Between The Devil & The Deep Blue Sea
A country no longer called the UK or Great Britain, but the Grey Isles, part of the Greater Rainbelt region.
In this world lived Ocea. A freelance gig worker jumping from place to place, never really settling. Seeing all sides of this complex society through the gigs she took on.
New London, The Year 2322.
A rain that never stopped. Flooded and foggy, but also futuristic and sleek. A complex, multi-layered, vertically stratified capital city of the remains of England. From dark, damp harbours all the way to the tops of shining towers.
Not in the immediate post-apocalyptic way, but hundreds of years later, where the floods and the rain was just...normal.
From this idea began the obsession which was my worldbuilding.
Every song I would write would end up with some kind of oceanic metaphor in the lyrics or some kind of rain or sea noise.
Eventually these thoughts mutated into another...
what would a flooded future world be like? what if the rain never stopped?

Food stalls selling salty grilled samphire and duck eggs, seabuckthorn cider and smoky peat whiskies.
Dockhands, salvagers and mudlarkers hawking their deep sea finds.
Welcome to the rainsoaked streets of New London, capital city of the Grey Isles, 2322.
A maze of alleys and canals, built upon the ruins of the old flooded city. You can find anything here, it just depends what you're looking for.
