This whole administration continues to be an object lesson in the catastrophic folly of letting unserious people have authority over serious things

My uncle had that same condition. He contracted polio at age 15 in the early 1950s, pre-vaccine, & had to be in quarantine for a while. Later went to college, worked, married, had a family etc. but was in excruciating pain all his life. But he was hilarious and did the best he could to downplay it.

Paternal grandfather actually did run for Congress in WV as Dem candidate but lost in a close race to Arch Moore, father of Sen. Shelley Capito. Moore later did jail time for fraud; by then my grandfather was dead so didn’t get to gloat. Other grandfather was a stockbroker (& WV state GOP chair).

Richard Hell’s mother was my professor in an American Literature class while I was working on a master’s in English many years ago. She had a very cheerful lilting voice which was a fun contrast with her sharp critiques. Also did not look like what you’d expect his mother to look like!

That’s on one of my running playlists and I’m always happy to hear it in the final stretch. I love that line in particular. (He’s great live!)

I got a nice Costco discount on my last car purchase. Have never used the travel service but have heard good things.

Not defending this apprehension at all but just passing this report along. Locals in Sewickley seem to be very supportive of the family, especially with their young daughter starting chemo this week.

Judge Goodwin & family have a long history of service to WV. His son was US Atty for the Southern District of WV (Obama appointee) and his daughter-in-law is serving her 2nd term as Mayor of Charleston, WV. A nephew was appointed to fill the rest of Robert Byrd's term as Senator after Byrd's death.

And it’s very easy for passengers to get rid of their trash before landing - the flight attendants come through the cabin multiple times to collect it!

I have done that on my treadmill - not on purpose but by somehow accidentally pushing the 12 mph button (normal for me is between 6.5 to 7 mph). Lucky I didn’t fall off and do some real damage. Coincidentally, I’m the same age as Tom Cruise.

Not to mention- Brad Karp, also in this chain, is chair of one of the first law firms to cave to Trump last year.

Of the biggest scandals in US history just this week, I think I’d rank them:

1) Federal paramilitaries invade US city based on racist lies, murder US citizens

2) Slush fund for the president from stolen foreign resources held in Qatar

3) Whatever FBI and DNI are doing re: 2020 election in Georgia
