"Good afternoon Councillor Lamb
Thank you for sharing the information regarding βthe βRidiculousβ Traffic Plan That Actually Workedβ video which I have watched with interest and I have also shared with wider colleagues across Regeneration and Highways."
YOU ARE MOST WELCOME π«‘

They have indeed! There's a GoFundMe online for the Rose Garden. Tell your friends! (no pressure, etc.)

Yes. Very normal for commercial vehicles to be brought home and stored on street overnight as well. Stronger parking rules should/could have prohibited this
Thanks. I have! Very enthusiastic about making sure Wirral Council can make use of new powers the second we are able to (would prefer government showed some courage and didn't give local leaders the power to opt in/out)
did quite a bit of local driving yesterday, for my sins. All is not well on our roads. Some very weird behaviour. No more driving for me till Saturday at the earliest
A UK suburban, residential street on a sunny day. Photo showing the footway. A few metres further on, a white van blocks the path. Cars/grass verge parked to the right, houses/hedges to the left
he did not like being asked to move

An image of a person with a pushchair down a residential street near inconsiderately parked cars. The person is wearing striped clothing and walking past a black car. The setting includes brick buildings and a view of houses on a hill in the background.
It's happening! π’
On Tuesday, MPs will consider an amendment to enable local leaders to ban pavement parking in their area. We need you to help us get this amendment on to the Bill.
Ask your MP to agree to Amendment 265 when it's considered on Tuesday: https://bitly.livingstreets.org.uk/4tMU2Uq
That's fab news! Great stuff :-)

Thanks both. Been watching the Elecroverse app for a while, and ZapMap. Should be a lot more council chargers later this year, but don't know pricing yet.
May even revert to installing a charger at nearby families homes.
Yes. That's the key point
Can't quite work out how I managed it. Got 58mpg on the way home (200+ miles). Was much windier. Tyre pressures might have dropped a small amount? π€·πΌββοΈ
I think 50p/kWh is the cross over point for cost savings with an EV. Hoping to make the switch this year π€
Still very much loving my cargo bike, but I bought it before I really knew that a regular bicycle can carry an awful lot of stuff

Very cool article (that I wish I'd written) by @mmautner.bsky.social. Full of super-practical advice

Jo Bird, Wirral Green Councillor is standing in a local train station holding a huge train ticket with "Your route from private profit to fairer, greener trains. Return our Merseyrail." written on it. Merseyrail train in the background.
Merseyrail on track for return π
Green Party calls to bring Merseyrail back into public ownership are paying off. The current rip-off arrangement means that up to Β£1.50 for every passenger journey is paid out in dividends to shareholders.
"Slowly, then all at once"
No ... good old fashioned, dirty diesel. Hoping it'll be our last year with it, but it's mega efficient. Put the tyre pressure slightly higher than normal. Never had the mpg that high
Rev counter on a Volvo V60. The digital display shows the time (1.11pm), the temperature (10C) and for fuel efficiency (76.9mpg)
If you must burn fuel, burn it like there's not much of it left
Yes, research from the IPPR found that the average UK household spends Β£87 a week on transport, this rises to Β£108 if they own a car.
And transport spending is regressive: the poorest fifth of households spend 18% of their income on transport, compared to 11% on average, and 9% for the richest.
Cheers. I need to do a thread of my own on this... but from my perspective the story today is about cowardly Labour councillors and an MP that aren't backing Birkenhead (we have had some major issues to overcome, long story).
This scheme will come good very quickly imo
Lots of planters, chicanes and benches too
Damon Albarn on a screen at a Gorillaz concert. Liverpool Echo Arena. He's wearing an old British Rail jacket
gotta get me some British Rail merch π¦π
I demand that you organise some kind of academic event for this most wonderful of places, John! Try and invite @tomflood.bsky.social as well. There must be a gig on nearby or something π

Oh boy. Cooking for 14 tomorrow. Let's go!
Thanks, didn't know about the prediction page
