Decided a decorative crocheted join just wouldn't work in this case, so I'm going to have to sew the panels to the back. Wish me luck 😭

Well, after many, many, many froggings, diagrams, and swatching, the front panels are finally done!

The shape may look a bit weird now, but it will make sense when I out it all together... I hope... πŸ˜…

There's no worse feeling than having to rip it out πŸ˜”

Creating more flowers!

Figuring out how to make these flowers look somewhat like... flowers, while having an opaque background took me such a long time. Although I'm quite happy with the end result, so I think it was worth it! 🌷

I'm a bit sad that this is my last major section with the linen stitch, it's just so relaxing to do!

After 2 weeks and more froggings than I can count, I've finally finished 1 front panel πŸ˜…

Now to do the next one!

Excited to almost have the first front panel done!
I'm a bit worried that the "flower" stitches will make the centre front too heavy, so the next few rows will be spent spacing them out more

Decided to try my hand at bust shaping for the first time...

Today's attempt:
~ Frog count: 4
~ Net rows added: -1

Oh well, learning a new technique is always a fun, eye opening adventure πŸ™ƒ

In my opinion it's the best go-to crochet show!

Finally being able to produce what you've been imagining is such a rewarding feeling, and that's exactly the point I've reached with the flowers on the front here 🌷

The one side is a big short, but I've got plans to even it out later 😊

Trying to capture the look of a flower... I'm honestly not sure if it's working out or not though πŸ˜…

In my seven years of crocheting, this is the first time I actually put in the time and effort to do some math to create a nicely shaped piece...

Unfortunately I've discovered that this time and effort really does pay off a lot πŸ˜…

Guess I'll be doing this more in the future

That's looking great! Much better than my first crochet attempts πŸ˜…. Also that's some very pretty yarn you're using

Not sure if it's just me, but I find that having a crochet working space with yarn and tools everywhere is so satisfying πŸ˜…

The back is almost done! It's fairly basic, but that's because I have a lot of plans for the front...

It was only after I had bought all the yarn that I realised the yellow and green were slightly different weights, but the difference was enough to be noticeable 🀦
So I decided to augment the difference by using it to shape a bit more... Here's hoping it will work out! 🀞

Some days you really feel like you know what you're doing, other days you frog the same section 3 times and still aren't happy with the result πŸ₯΄

Good thing I named this account Stitch and Frog, not Stitch Perfectly the First Time

If there's one thing I always hated, it's sewing on ribbed edging 😭
When I found this way to do edging it was literally one of the happiest in my life, no sewing required!

Tried to crochet by a different lake, but for some reason the ducks kept on thinking I had food (I did not) and wouldn't leave me alone 🀣

I'm really loving the linen stitch! I find it's really pretty to look at, despite being so simple, and the piece is nice and flexible which will make it good to wear!

Took a 3 hour train ride just to end up crocheting at the lake, I'm not mad about it though πŸ₯°

Update - wasn't happy with what I'd decided on, still swatchingπŸ˜…
This is part of what I love about fibre arts, the ability to go back and physically try out different looks/styles
