I’m reflecting on Drake’s situation through the lense of a Cloud Solution’s Architect and remembering Werner Vogels' famous quote: 'Everything fails all the time.' Drake’s team overlooked High Availability, Resilience, & Fault Tolerance. No DR Plan, or if there is one, it lacks clear RTO/RPO.

I use an OVH dedicated server for my CKA lab, and overall, I’m happy with it. While there’s a bit of latency and occasionally I need to restart it a few times, it’s generally manageable.

There are so many reasons why Terraform is the best choice. If you only deal with AWS and your infra requirements are small then CDK. But on large teams and projects that require collaboration with other engineers that aren’t necessarily developers, Terraform is the clear winner

Kubernetes runs on Linux primarily. Having a solid understanding of Linux will make your life working with Kubernetes much more fun. Trust me !

Most folks without a systems administrator background struggle with Kubernetes.
