That's what his atheism was always a cover for. His entire persona was about selling War on Terror-era xenophobia to people who wanted a way to attack Islam but were wary of public association w/ the Christian fundamentalists. That's all he is. No great interpreter of atheist thought. Just a crank.

Makes me think of that amazing post by Dawkins where he used "reason" to deduce that Kafka was non-sense because people can't turn into giant beetles. Like, my guy, you're an atheist & even you can't see a metaphor for the absurdity & meaninglessness of existence. I just can't with those guys.
