I just saw Come See Me in the Good Light described as “the happy cancer movie” and that’s exactly why I couldn’t get through it. Had to turn it off half way through.

That makes sense, thanks Meggs🙏

I’m an odd mix of hyper-mobile with tense creakiness atm, so I went back to yoga. But, being me, I did not do it in small increments. No, I jumped straight into deep hip openers and now I’m swimming in a sea of my own sadness and fragility.

Ifykyk.

That actually is the danger of this space.

Not that we don’t have the abusive voices we had on the other place - they may fuck right off - but that alarm begets only more alarm on here.

Given the chance, Bluesky will just alarm you over and over again, without any attempt to offer a more grounded opinion.

God knows, I’m not saying there’s no cause for alarm, but maybe there isn’t quite as much cause as this place would have you believe much of the time.

Ireland to seek cut in EU tax on imported US aviation fuel to ease airline cost crisis Move comes as Aer Lingus announces plans to cancel or reschedule 2% of flights

This is exactly the OPPOSITE of what we should be doing.

“Scientists are now increasingly worried that the earth may well pass the tipping Amoc shutdown point — where it becomes inevitable — in the middle of this century. That’s not far away, and the consequences are terrifying.”

So I’ll have a bigger phone. Big deal.

The Earth is in crisis.

Yes, because letting corporations do whatever they want has worked out so well for the planet so far.

Honestly, David, what you’re doing here seems like holding women to a higher standard, under a post in which I asked that people consider the pain caused to women throughout the years.

It’s not ok, and I’m not going to argue it with you.

2 days ago 3 0 1 0

Nope, I would never put any woman through that ever, no matter how I feel about them. That’s not feminism.

Ok look, I get that you might agree with something a Catholic conservative has said, but I would ask that you consider how it impacts those of us who had the bear the pain they caused during marriage equality and Repeal (and long before).

A gray-morph Eastern Screech Owl has eyes like golden kiwifruit. Her feathers fuzzily fluctuate between shades of ashy white and black granite. She's wrapped in a white towel, or, it would be white if not for the spillage of contents from her most recent meal; a mess of mouse juice soaking across her beak, chin bristles, and towel. Culinary etiquette aside, she's cute as a button.

Red Wolf Sanctuary posted this Eastern Screech Owl with the caption: "This towel is warm. I was just fed. My face is still messy. Red Wolf is taking great care of me. I'm gonna take a nap now."

Found the Bon Secours mother and baby home in Tuam yesterday. Women listed as “servants” and children as “illegitimate”. Chilling to see it in black and white.

Think I might have found my grandfather on my father’s side in Roscommon, age 19, listed as a coal miner.

The two sides of my family: a sculptor, a dancer, and a photographic studio owner on one side, farmers and coal miners on the other side. Endlessly interesting.

They also seem a little confused re the definition of ‘integration’. What’s happening with Trump is assimilation.

These incredible Buff Tip Moths blend in so well with branches that you might mistake them for sticks. Nature's masters of disguise are truly fascinating!
