The CE download was already tucked away where they didn't want us to find it but this is just extra disappointing.

Like you said, unified edition isn't exactly bad, but forcing a big green upgrade button right next to important actions is too much. I'll just keep using outdated CE

My community edition prompted me to download unified edition yesterday. Checking their archive page it seems they're totally abandoning CE. I think 25.2 was the last update to it that they're doing.

The effort-reward feedback loop for Minecraft modding is so good, why anyone would deprived themselves of that always baffles me.

Decoupling keeping xp from your inventory seems like such an obvious game rule that should exist in vanilla. Really good idea

To celebrate the Quark mod's 1.21.1 release, Plushables has received a new stoneling plush. Modelled after the skittish little creatures from Quark, it can be crafted with a heart of gold, stone and grey wool.

I feel this too. One major version a year felt a lot more achievable, and I'd be less prone to burnout.

Hopefully with one drop each quarter which is defined by its .x number, mod devs will be able to settle on 'main' versions easier. Personally I'm planning to just target .1 versions as of now.
