It’s impossible to verify but they could be Iranian boats heading away from the burning ship.

Police radio recordings show the first mention of the incident at 12.26pm, about six minutes after the shooting occurred.

Officers were on the scene within minutes, with one officer describing the suspect at 12.35pm as "wearing jeans, black shirt, black mask, long rifle"

Firearms consultant David Dyson told us that, based on the range from where they are believed to have fired, the gunman would likely need to be a somewhat skilled target shooter. He said it's "not a great range" for someone with practice

Audio analyst Rob Maher estimated the distance the shot travelled, reaching a similar conclusion to Sky News' analysis.

"The time gap between the crack sound and the pop sound in the recordings close to the podium is about 240 milliseconds," he told Sky News

The position of the car suggests it was thrown sideways as it came into the curve, before tipping and sliding into the building.

Normally, when one car is at the base, the other should be at the top. This suggests the crashed carriage may have travelled around 200 metres downhill before derailing.

New video reveals two missiles were used in the second strike. These were milliseconds apart so suggest two tanks would have fired. Defence intelligence company Janes told Sky News, "the interval between the two impacts is far too short" to be a single tank.
