Got my copy of @manderleypress.bsky.social’s repub of Helene Hanff’s 1962 “Underfoot in Show Business”, which I really really recommend if you’re interested in a memoir of someone failing to become a playwright in the 40s and 50s, definitely holds up to a reread now
Exciting news for 2027!
I can't wait to tell you more about our forthcoming Dodie Smith publication - this is a shameless teaser and all I can hint at is that we'll be heading overseas for the book launch..! #booksky

In a world where a book is a flower then I choose fritillaries to represent Woman Alive by Susan Ertz: dystopian, enigmatic, classic, stunning, sci-fi, feminine #booksky
A blast from the past! I’m so excited to bring this one back to life 💕
Me too!!! I’m so glad to find fellow fans of the book.

Did you know that we have published four books all inspired by, and set in, #London. From children’s tales and historical novels to magical “otherworldliness” and forgotten dystopian feminist gems… each title introduced and illustrated to perfection by writers and artists with a link to the city…
Fantastic!!!! Enjoy the read 📚✨
Have you read ‘Woman Alive’ yet? Ninety years after it was first published, this dystopian feminist forgotten literary classic is once again ‘alive’, with a resounding message for modern times… #womanalive #booksky #dystopian #feminist
A treasured copy!
What links Henry James to Oklahoma! and 84, Charing Cross Road? The Manderley Press New York Collection, of course 💛🖤🤍
Ah thanks Tom - for this magical cover, and for sharing our exciting news about Woman Alive too. We are absolutely delighted with your illustrations and can’t wait to see the cover as an art print too! 🙏📚👀
The book has a red cloth spine. The cover shows a retrofuturist city with airships and cablecars. A single woman appears in a door high in the towers.Far below, male figures spill out of underground tunnels and climb stairs towards her

I drew the cover for a new edition of lost sci-fi classic 'Woman Alive' by Susan Ertz. It is out now from @manderleypress.bsky.social

In love with this new edition of Woman Alive by Susan Ertz - rediscovered and republished by @manderleypress.bsky.social
Written in the 1930s, it's the story of the last woman left in a world of men in an imagined 1985
