Superb!

People do talk a lot about the fun they're having playing video games! And I might LARP more.
I went on holiday two years ago with my wife's family, and there were parts of it that were stressful -- more the getting there than the being there -- but it was very good to get away from things and just relax for a few weeks. Closer to home would be nice.
I don't know that I would like to stop making the show. I enjoy it. But if I knew I could come back to it afterward, I have a lot of painting to do, a lot of books to read, recipes to try. I might get one of those cinema passes. I've been meaning to go to Pompeii for a long time.
Could this be a preview of things to come? Perhaps for Attack the Light: Issue 1? Quite possibly maybe...
The pile ... of opportunity!
Speaking of good podcasts, it's a shame to say goodbye to one of my favourite gaming podcasts, but glad to see it'll be getting a finale. If you're at all interested in how to present adventures, either as a writer or as a GM, this show's back catalogue is so valuable.
I'm sorry you listen to bad things; you should probably stop.
I don't know -- I put a lot of work into my show and I'm pretty proud of it, and even though I know it shouldn't, it feels pretty bad to hear that sort of dismissive attitude.
Ah well; it's a small matter.
This may be motivated reasoning coming from someone who makes a podcast, but in general I find the whole "this guy looks like he makes a podcast (derogatory)" bit says more about the person who says it. It assumes that a podcast is two meatheads talking about financial scams or whatever.
Today's episode features a big bug and a bad blood boy. Benjoy!

Two people enthusiastically presenting a table filled with indie RPGs, covered with orange tablecloths and banners saying "TIN".
Come check out our wares at Call to Adventure! This fabulous free convention takes place today 10AM-5PM at Kensington Town Hall in London. Support a great convention and the incredible range of indie creators selling at our stall.
Patreon backer Ben brings you another Monster Roulette episode! In this one, I learn some facts about prehistoric mammals, and you know how I love learning animal facts.

Again, speaking only as an interested fan, I think it was a combination of all of those things. The Penguin Modern Classics Lovecraft books start coming out in 2002 as well, so HPL is getting to be mainstream.
And I wound up in Cthulhu Dark Ages because I used to larp with a fellow who, when asked whether he knew anyone who was both a Cthulhu person and an early medievalist, went "as a matter of fact...".
Which is not to say it's all old-boy network stuff, but just ... people won't hire you for what you're good at unless they know what you're good at, and the easiest way to achieve that is just to do it well around them.
The thing about connections leading to work is really true. I'm not the world's most sociable guy, but I have absolutely been offered gigs because people were fans of Monster Man, and my writing work with the History and Games Lab largely comes from signing up for a game at Salute.
I try to create themed painting months each year. I did one skeleton just so last month could still be March of the Undead. I'm going to work on my Bretonnians a bit this month, since it's 4 The Lady. Next month is "I May Start a New Army."
If you want to buy physical copies of my world-building zines, don't forget that you can get them from @uktin.bsky.social at Dragonmeet: Call to Adventure!
Five classic monopose plastic Beastman figures from Warhammer, converted to wield chainswords and bolt pistols, painted in a tan and red colour scheme and posed against a desert background.
Progress on my second edition Warhammer 40K chaos cult army continues. This month: the beastmen, better known as the only guys in the core army list who can fight worth a hoot.
I can wholeheartedly recommend working with @toadlett ! Look at those cool funerary doodles, which grace my zine The Tome of Tombs.
In today's episode, we encounter two monsters from the world of Krynn who could actually work well in other campaign settings!

I saw that! There are so many inspirational oldhammer / indiemini events cropping up over the past few years. I don't know if it's a new thing or if I'm just hearing about them now.
I believe @ramshacklegames.bsky.social bought all 27 of them in the end.
I mean, there's a long distance between "I want to" and "I have the time to," and yet ... I want to.
I wrote about my trip to Sheffield's Oldhammer event, Lead and Steel.

RPG About Me.
First game: Tunnels and Trolls
Last game: Mythic Bastionland
Longest Game: Depends how you count. Vampire the Requiem?
Favourite Game: Can't choose. CoC maybe?
Favourite Mechanics: Mythic Bastionland Scars? One I most recently liked, anyway.
Favourite Art: Carved in Stone.
Just working our game table did mine in. Talking over Salute's background roar is tough! I have something called muscle tension dysphonia, which means I lose my voice easily, so I planned not to have to do any talking today. Chamomile tea, vocalzones, and back to work tomorrow.
I am once again asking you to recommend me your favourite monster generation tools -- preferably ones that I can find online, free or otherwise. I'm going to do another Monster Roulette this week and I would like a fun generator to use. Thank you!
Despite technical problems with the page, you can still pledge to back The Gauntlet's latest project!
