Also, DNA is a whole thing & a lot of people don't realize that. It's not bad to take your time. Lots of people aren't prepared for unexpected results or don't understand how it works & what data shows. I sat in on a full day workshop learning about it & still haven't done tests. It's fascinating.

Love it! If I can ever help point you to info, people, or something, I'm happy to try to help. If you don't know, the Allen County library in Ft. Wayne is one of the biggest genealogy libraries in the country. I had no idea until I started this job. So, if you are up that way sometime go see them.

I work with societies, libraries, archives & other organizations. I'm not a genealogist, though I have an interest in family history, but am in nonprofit/association management. We're a small staff so I help with marketing, events, etc. (but not our education - experts teach).
As someone who works with the genealogy community and isn't regularly going to church, I appreciate this post.
I have 2 work trips coming up, 1 soon & 1 in a few months. The 1st is not really driving distance & I'm hoping all goes well. The 2nd I need to buy tickets for soon & it's an 8-9 hour drive & I'm now weighing all my options & watching how things go.
On Feb 7, Bandcamp will be donating 100% of our proceeds to MusiCares to provide emergency aid for artists in need, partnering with A2IM, WIN, Harman, Lagunitas, Roland, Shure, Victrola, and Women in Music to amplify the effort. Mark your calendar & spread the word. bit.ly/4gt9ka4
Right?! Every time I think this can't get more weird, bizarre, and troubling it somehow manages to far exceed the possibilities. WTF
Today is going to be the start of a difficult four years for many in this country.
Many folks are asking themselves what they will do to resist. Plenty of folks are likely asking "What's the point?" and I get it.๐งต(1/7)
It's so hard for me to comprehend what's happening in LA even as I see devastating photo after devastating photo. There are many ways to help; this is one of them.
Love this Christmas song!!!
One of the best. Glad we can still listen to Mimi's voice this time of year.
We don't need a meeting or even a phone call if it can be a short email. Wondering if we'll reach a point where all people understand this or if there'll always be someone who thinks they need as much of your time as possible.
Also, appreciate that my boss is of the no unnecessary meetings variety.
As someone who grew up in Ohio (Dayton area), I have to say the music thing is legit. I had more cool music available than I should have. Some genres were lacking, but I had access to some awesome bands and didn't realize at the time how great it was.

Signed up here some time ago and never really made the time to explore and figure this space out. Guess now I should.
So, hi folks. ๐
Looking forward to connecting more where the sky is blue.
Checking out the view from this new place. Might stay & try to see who else is here. Thanks @jerseylightning.bsky.social for the invitation.
