I have drank too much at the local furry cidery.

I also found some cool art someone left behind.

I've been watching the stream for a couple hours now, it's just republicans yelling about how this is going to impact everyone who doesn't make enough money to have to pay the tax. They're maybe 15% of the way through amendments.

HERE IT IS. Seattle's draft enabling legislation for Shared Streets under SB 5595. seattle.legistar.com/ViewReport.a...

I decided to do an entirely normal thing and watch this and uh, y'all are saints I can't believe how many bad arguments keep coming up from the republicans.

Two things for @mayorofseattle.bsky.social and @alexis4seattle.bsky.social:

1. We need to know how and why this happened tomorrow, and have a proposed solution to prevent it.

2. We need to immediately spin up a Vision Zero Response Team with more funding than the 2026 graffiti abatement budget.

TLDR for all of this: amazon cannot run a grocery store. I assume Whole Foods is isolated enough they're continuing to exist out of past experience, but holy shit these stores closing does not surprise me in the slightest. Every single time i went in was a new horror.

It was pretty normal to go in on a random afternoon and for them to be out of anything not stocked by a third party. In this area they means they had some bread, soda, and chips. More than once they ran out of meat, dairy, and produce on an arbitrary weekday.

I haven't been able to have normal bakery things for years due to celiac, but before that happened every single thing they made fresh was an abomination. It's like someone played a game of telephone and they got the shape right but totally missed out on what pizza or donuts or bread tastes like.

Sometimes the hand baskets went missing. I'd need 3-4 more things than I could carry (but not enough to justify a cart). Once the manager asked me what i was looking for and they said "we got rid of them because it takes out cashiers too long to put them back". A whopping 4 feet.

The security guard once stopped me while I was walking inside and said i "looked suspicious" due to wearing all black, and he was "keeping an eye on me". I had blue jeans on and a pair of bright green shoes.

The normal carts would randomly disappear so you'd have to use their self checkout carts. These would yell at you if you scanned items individually. If you added 4 of the same item, it'd fail to charge you for more than one. If you could find an employee to fix it, they couldn't do anything.

I have some stories from this place.

Once, they were unable to figure out how to sell me a bag of chips. Because the computer said they were out of stock. Except! I had them in front of me. The checkout just flat out refused to allow me to pay for the bag of chips, because they were out of stock.

I tend to pick a team based entirely on the color of their costumes and refuse to learn their names (or really anything about American football tbh). This could actually work

If I didn't hate hosting things at my house so much, I'd invite a bunch of people over and ask them to bring cheese.

Almost every year I go to a Super Bowl party and gorge myself on cheese and pretend to have never heard of either team. I am just there for the cheese.

This year Seattle is playing. I cannot pretend to have not heard of them.

I think this means I have to buy my own cheese and skip the parties.

Honestly if someone offered "we take away all your electronics and lock you in a room with snacks and books for a weekend" as a vacation...

Sorry, assessed not taxed.

As far as i can tell the values are pulled out of someone's rear end and not based in reality.

I really hope you get an answer.

The land for my townhouse is taxed at $247/sqft; the sfh lot next door (that's also in an LR3 zone) is $170/sqft.

The assessors office wouldn't give me a straight answer here, and just told me to appeal it if i disagree.

I've run into this! I can tell which side of the aisle a given candidate is depending on which address they sent shit to (for reasons my townhouse is either 123C or 123 apt 3, idk why usps has two entries).

There's a bunch of books I enjoyed in middle school. I can't tell you who wrote them, or what they were about, or what they looked like.

I can tell you which shelf they were on in the middle school's library.

Been horrifying teammates by referring to undocumented information that's held only in people's heads as "locked in meat storage".

Please use this with your teams/projects and report back on how they like it?
