Because of the bot I picked up the BFI's Kitano set (which includes Sonatine). It became an instant fave. Stunning film.
Really like that they took the anthology approach with the sequel and all new characters / setting. Hope that means we’ll get another one (or more) of these.
Also finished it last night. A fantastic sequel, even if one specific puzzle towards the end needed better signposting IMO. My partner and I spent several hours trying out different ideas for how to progress before looking up a guide. Was pleased to solve the next puzzle without help though.
Apropos of nothing, one of my favourite Cassette Beasts monsters I designed is Pombomb, illustrated here for our key art by @smaiart.bsky.social! It ended up as something of a mascot for the game.

RGG Studio not only cast Kagawa despite his actions, they are specifically taking advantage of his image as a creep to sell the role.
