oh fuck I can't believe today is 17776 Day!!!!!!

if you've never.....read? experienced? this I would recommend 1) setting at least one full hour aside 2) clicking on this on a laptop, and just........seeing what happens

I would genuinely call the first time I read this "transcendental"

i think sometimes cis people truly have a hard time understanding that jk rowling is a living person actively using her wealth to fund the international assault on trans lives. she’s not some Complicated Author we can have a spirited debate about separating from the art with!!!!!

Because of the bot I picked up the BFI's Kitano set (which includes Sonatine). It became an instant fave. Stunning film.

Really like that they took the anthology approach with the sequel and all new characters / setting. Hope that means we’ll get another one (or more) of these.

Also finished it last night. A fantastic sequel, even if one specific puzzle towards the end needed better signposting IMO. My partner and I spent several hours trying out different ideas for how to progress before looking up a guide. Was pleased to solve the next puzzle without help though.

Apropos of nothing, one of my favourite Cassette Beasts monsters I designed is Pombomb, illustrated here for our key art by @smaiart.bsky.social! It ended up as something of a mascot for the game.

This was such brilliant news to wake up to 🙌

It’s not just about the Green Party getting another seat, it’s about showing every other politician that people actually want progressive policies.

Mubi now ramping up promo for Blossoms Shanghai and still no word on when it'll be available legally in the UK. I can only assume we're just going to have to wait for Criterion to release it physically?

Yeah this is really exciting. Clearly the enthusiasm for the Takanaka shows is having an impact

A shot of Teruyuki Kagawa as Goh Hamazaki in Yakuza Kiwami 3 with his face mosaic blurred out, accompanied by an excerpt from a GAME Watch interview with Ryosuke Horii on 2026-02-05:

Horii: “Rikiya and Hamazaki are both key characters to the story, so it would certainly be safer not to recast them and avoid online criticism (laughs). But we felt there was no use being afraid. We based our decision on what excited us and made us think, ‘This is who we want to perform,’ or ‘What if we cast this person?’ […] Hamazaki is a sleazy, persistent, and militant yakuza, right? Since he isn’t an explosive character like Kanda, when we tried to think of someone who makes you go, ‘This guy’s a creep,’ naturally it was Kagawa-san. The biggest thing was just had to see that. Kagawa-san’s acting is fun to watch. Even when he’s chopping a pig’s feet off with a chef’s knife, it has a slimy feel.”

RGG Studio not only cast Kagawa despite his actions, they are specifically taking advantage of his image as a creep to sell the role.

Guess that’s that. #REMOVEKAGAWA

A full review notes most of Yakuza 3’s queer content removed, including the iconic side quest where Kiryu helps a trans woman. Really sad, the series oddball gutter humanism for society’s outcasts & oppressed & himbo queerness was what made it special. www.videogameschronicle.com/review/yakuz...

Yeah, whilst I'm not really keen on the whole push for sending IDs off for verification, it does seem like people don't have the full context for what this actually limits in this case.

For my birthday my partner bought me a cooking apron and customised it by sewing onto the pocket, To-Fu from Promise Mascot Agency by @kaizengameworks.com

One of the giants of modern European cinema has fallen. RIP Hungarian maestro, Béla Tarr. Damnation, Satantango, Werckmeister Harmonies, The Turin Horse… to have made just one of these extraordinary films would have been a life's work completed.
