I'm not really an artist, but the Penicil Pro was a game changer for planning/design. The squeeze-for-tools + hover preview made me put away my notebook and go all in with the iPad.
Starting the OUYA Winter Game Jam dev with @bherdm.dev this week! We’re aiming to make a trading card game/dating sim. Both new genres for us! Started our research by playing Hearthstone then sitting down at the coffee table for some Pokémon TCG.

There are a lot of directions it could've gone better, but at least now it's community-run! The Discover Store is officially dead, but it's easily rerouted to the community server - where new games are still being published.

I really enjoyed Godotneers video on data models when I was working on my first inventory system.
Can you tell me about your curriculum? I’d love to learn a more ‘tried and true’ method than the ‘try it and see if it sticks’ approach I’ve been using.
From here it starts to get more tailored to what the students want to pursue. Most of my second year students are working on writing game design documents right now.
4) Variables & Functions II + UI- Building a calculator. This lesson is focused on teaching arguments and return values. Depending on the group, I may or may not teach arrays + loops here.
