Our (@mahliann.bsky.social, @marcuscarter.com, and I) book GAME STUDIES: A CRITICAL INTRODUCTION TO THE FIELD is officially OUT everywhere in the world except the US for some reason. So here is an actual thread about why we wrote it and what we were trying to achieve with it.

I'm reading this post and I'm amazed how the answer to "`^` is hard to press on my keyboard layout" is > well have you considered that because of the better type system you don't have to type it as often? 🤓

Reminds me of an option in Disco Elysium that allows you to make a keybinding to switch between two languages and it works for everything at anytime!
I went to meet the 'Rockstar 31', the developers who were suddenly fired from their work on GTA 6 for what the studio has described as gross misconduct.
That's not what the workers call it though. They have another couple of words they prefer to use: union busting.

"Fissured Grotto" one-page dungeon
I made a one-page dungeon for OPD contest! It turned out much better than I expected 🙈
It intentionally tries to split the players' party by spreading them across different chambers, so watch out! Check it out here: naruvan.itch.io/fissured-gro...

GAMER SHIVERS [Challenging: Success] — There is no such thing as "good at marketing." There is success, and failure, and random chance. To control the market is to look to madness; madness is where the power lies. Skip a stone across the ocean. Damn yourself when it sinks.

The free coworking space I use has paintings on the walls made by kids and teens. It's so much nicer than looking at blank walls
I wasn't aware of Wrath and Glory, I will check it out! I'm currently treating disguises as a kind of "hp" with each disguise ("waiter", "bodyguard") having a separate hp bar and giving different fictional advantages (it's not suspicious you are in the kitchen). Hopefully it survives playtesting 😅
I've been slowly working on a game with a large focus on disguises and came to a similar conclusion. Have you found anything interesting or invented something new for your game?
Looks sick!

Bluesky seems to be a bit quiet in terms of musicians, but here goes anyway. There's going to be a game jam in August, where developers make "interactive music video" games for songs submitted by musicians. If you've got a song, you can submit it here: forms.gle/WAXzVCXLX7qb... Please share!
