Headliners were five-piece Picture Parlour who play 70s rock and just seem to be born to play live. I guarantee you won't find a better live band.
Out tonight to see Picture Parlour supported by Aimée Fatale at the Green Door Store, Brighton. First up was Hull's Aimée Fatale and her band who play a blend of 60s pop with a bit of country.

RIP Andy Kershaw he did a lot for African and World Music and indie bands back in the '80s when it was rare to hear an unashamedly northern accent on the BBC. www.theguardian.com/media/2026/a...

Pastel at the Green Door Store, Brighton on their "A little bit of love" tour. Pastel played a few new songs in the 14 song, 60 minute set, which seemed to go down well with the very enthusiastic crowd.
Bighead at Green Door Store Brighton. The four piece play indie rock, with more of a lean towards the rock than the indie. An eight song set including a great version of the Cure's "Love Song".
Out tonight to see Pastel at the Green Door Store, Brighton supported by Brighton band Bighead.
Brighton's Thrillhouse debut album "Smile" is going to be one of my albums of the year. Classic tunes and melodies, with lyrics you can hear and want to sing along to! One for fans of Dylan and War on Drugs open.spotify.com/album/5yWvaC...
Currently playing tracks by a band called 'this rainy decade' on repeat. I can find absolutely nothing out about them. Best band I've heard in years. A lovely early New Order '80s indie sound.
Who are they?
Hope to god it's not AI!!! www.youtube.com/channel/UC3R...
Have the hangover from hell, but all worth it. Misty in Roots, the Cimarrons and Rhoda Dakar at the Electric Ballroom Camden for the 50th celebration of Rock Against Racism.

First up tonight at the Prince Albert were Brighton duo Nierra Creek who erred a bit too much on the somber side for me.

"Book that you like" Ebbb at the Hope & Ruin, Brighton, 17th March 2026

Ebbb are a three piece from London on the Ninja Tune label who veer between slow and banging electro. Oh my god they're good. A faultless 45 minute set. I so need to see them again asap.
Pollyfromthedirt is a masked, singer songwriter guitar, effects, keyboard player from Darlington. Who plays around with his tunes from melodic slow songs with just a guitar to bouncy electro. Second time I've seen him this year and hope to see him some more.
Out tonight at the Hope & Ruin, Brighton to see Ebbb supported by Pollyfromthedirt on the opening night of Ebbb's short five date headline tour.
"Going Up", Echo and the Bunnymen, Brighton Centre 14th March 2026 youtu.be/5KVVj1a3Rws
Echo and the Bunnymen on top form. No problems with Mac's voice. A greatest hits set, 80 minutes-ish, two encores. What more could you want?
