They will lie, lie again and lie some more. Lying works. Those targeted by the lies will never see those lies called out or the evidence to disprove the lie. Reform don't care that they are shown to be liars - the lie has done its job.

Invented stats and bare-faced lies works for Trump. There's no sanction for lying outside of Parliament, so less than Honourable Members now do it as a matter of course. I'm old enough to remember when lying was wrong.

I daresay that volunteer wardens are hard to come by, and churches can't be too fussy in requiring the sort of social skills, etiquette and understanding of church functions that they might ideally like in a warden. Don't worry about it - put it behind you and just carry on doing what you do.

How great to hear a leading US politician make a speech that doesn't sound like a petulant kid in a playground.

I look back with fondness at the dozens of wildlife documentaries in the 60s and 70s, narrated by the unseen Barry Paine. Would they have been improved by an actor/comedian/"personality" gushing about how "amazing" everything was? Not one bit!

1. Nobody, other than bank robbers and drug dealers, uses bank notes anymore.
2. Very few people could tell you who features on our bank notes - the ones that can are pub quiz geeks.
3. With the myriad things wrong with this country, bank notes are way, way down the list of things to worry about.

Anyone would think that US profiteering, Trump-donating, mega-lobbying fossil-fuel corporations had a vested interest in increasing oil prices.

The Land of the Free seems to have a big issue with actual freedom.

The UK Guardian newspaper reports that Starmer raised Jimmy Lai's case with President Xi on his visit on 29 January. On 20 January, Starmer approved the controversial Chinese mega-embassy in London. On 9 February, Jimmy Lai received a 20 year sentence. Starmer gave away his only bargaining chip.

They have made no bones about it - they imported a former Tory councillor from Barnet to lead Reform in Wales and have announced their intention to abolish Welsh language targets. They wish to abolish the Welsh Senedd and won't seek the Welsh share of HS2 money. Wales will just be part of England.

There's a right-wing myth that government bodies are stuffed full of highly paid people doing nothing. The reality is that the majority are low-paid people working very hard indeed, doing indispensable jobs. That's why the pipedreams of Kent Reformers have come to nothing - there's no fat to cut.

a) one didn't know which end of the pencil to use;
b) another couldn't spell "X", and
c) another couldn't find Farage on the voting slip?
