There's an excellent podcast called The West Wing Thing, where a pair of leftist screenwriters go through episode by episode and excoriate its terrible politics, and the way Democrats (and liberals elsewhere) have absorbed it as though it were realistic.
I thoroughly recommend it. Funny, too.

"We Bokononists believe that humanity is organized into teams, teams that do God's Will without ever discovering what they are doing. Such a team is called a karass by Bokonon."
White Lotus season 3 turned out to be Bokononism all along
Oscar-worthy
This isn't a coincidence - fascism is a natural outgrowth of conservatism and exactly this mindset. It's not a gotcha or a surprise to observe this.
'Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.'
This holds even in the face of fascism - right wing pundits in the US are now opposing due process.
Very unsettling to know the the quoted post, which is the most perfect reply to this insane screed, happened first.
Also a real missed opportunity not to hire a real artist to create a parody of AI slop to illustrate the depths of AI slop
Not to mention that plenty of people just don't like the style of the moment and would never redecorate/dress in that style, so making it look as though they do gives you a completely different read on the character
*inedible
btw the last thing I'd ever suggest is that Democrats' whole thing is winning elections, since I'm not utterly deluded
Also if you lose an election when your whole thing is winning elections, you're the one who's fucked it up
The very premise is insane - 'do you put mayonnaise on the outside like you do with another thing you'd never put mayonnaise on, and to which it adds nothing positive?'
My thoughts go out to George Foreman, George Foreman, George Foreman, George Foreman and George Foreman at this difficult time
Genuinely think using something like chatgpt in your job should be a sackable offence for many reasons but for one its so untrustworthy that it will always be a dereliction of responsibility and kind of deliberate sabotage
Oh no, now I agree with Wes about something
I'd buy one. That would be sic
Same - I genuinely feel bad that I couldn't embrace what he was doing with the previous album even slightly, but I'm glad he's gone back to songs of a sort I can enjoy
Have you had a chance to listen to Alan Sparhawk's new song?
This is another great example of how to demonstrate that she's right not to trust you, thank you.
If it seems like a woman distrusts you from the start, that's because so many men have earned that distrust for you before she ever met you. Don't take it personally.
Taking it personally is one of the many ways you can demonstrate that she was right not to trust you.
The UK government can't even bring themselves to condemn America's fascist lurch, yet Labour supporters still insist they aren't right wing. How could we ever trust any of them again?
Thank fuck there's a senate parliamentarian who can save us all from this shit
@coolzonemedia.bsky.social I've been listening to episodes of It Could Happen Here from 2022 and a fair few of Shereen's episodes seem to be unavailable - is there a reason for that, or is something just broken?
if you turn 90ยฐ to your left how the fuck is that a right angle
Franchise culture is out of control - just seen a trailer for a whole film about a background character from a single scene of Inside Llewyn Davis
