i literally begged fuzzy to do this as a podcast
watching random games is such a good jumping off point to remind yourself of concepts/topics u want to rant abt
streaming -> scrim
breaking: guy who previously said he hates losing still hates losing

is there any reason you can't just....put the names (possibly truncated) at the top?
i don't understand why weapon kits need to be on screen all game, and the top already shows you whos alive/dead
i think the recent changes have genuinely shifted things in interesting ways but i agree that we're cooked if the maps don't change, i miss flanking
but i think bow and heavy and 96 at least feel different than 2 years of splash pen frontline
idk if its more fun but at least the devs did something
it truly warms the heart to see a man who climbed to the highest peaks and lay dormant for so long return with all his fervent love of the game still burning through his veins
working on it
if it got burst missile it would be stupidly strong yes
youd play some kind of back-less
it's like a "nice-to-have" but it doesnt fundamentally alter the weapon's options in a way that would let it play differently
it was already the mobile freely rotating charger, making it a bit faster doesnt do that much other than giving it more room for gear but it's not like MPU exists
idk who needs to hear this but the bamboo buff does not change its place in the meta
streaming -> [xp2900] x - sz eeltail/mahi
totally spitballing here but
are the lowest levels of the scene lower than they were back in the day?
i think the scene was smaller back then, so--is it plausible that the distance between the weakest and strongest players in open majors is the same, but the ladder is just deeper now?
the time has come
as a dpad user i wish i was a cursor jumper actually because the pro controller dpad is the most inconsistent garbage ever
and then we can discuss with both ppl coming up with their unbiased pov but in situations u for sure think comms mattered
oh yeah i thought youd be picking
to make it efficient how abt this:
pick some recent scrim/tournament vod from one of us and identify some moments u wanna talk abt
then send me the timestamps, *without* your explanation for how comms would fix things
then ill go review the situation from my pov
and then @blopwher.bsky.social n i can explain our interpretation of the (not-comms) failure point
and then you can explain how exactly the comms would go down to fix the problem
i think itd make for educational content
cuz im still a staunch anti-commstruther
=====
on an entirely unrelated note i think it'd be interesting to sit down with you
or @kyochandxd.bsky.social
or @isjared.bsky.social
since all 3 of u want us to fix our comms
and go through moments where you think comms could have prevented a failure
everyone should be constantly yapping, there are probably specific moments where it's like " tell me which side you'll crab so i can prepare my bubble"
not just
"tell me when youre going in"
it's splatoon
everyone be going in all the time, but certain engagements are more critical/team-oriented
i for sure agree that comms can be improved, but both "we just need to paint more" and "we should comm better" are super broad statements that don't tell you how to fix things
like yeah, maybe we need more paint SOMETIMES, but why, from who, where, and when?
similarly, it's probably not just that\
for example, something i hear often is "you should tell me where you're going so we can play together"
the problem is that when you watch the game back, the coordination is usually failing because the 2 people in question are staggering for long periods of time
which is not a comms problem \
we for sure have different philosophies on the importance of comms n stuff
but i definitely think that for most players, losing a game and saying "we lost cuz we need to work on our communication" is a vague nothing-ism that doesn't create a path to progress \
