The fact that Trump waived sanctions on Iranian oil and let them export unencumbered for six weeks seems a boneheaded move borne of irrational optimism of the situation.

Could be 6 weeks farther along on starving the regime of revenue but 🤷‍♂️

I see 2 likely outcomes at this point:

1) JCPOA version 2 (likely worse terms for USA than version 1)
2) A ground invasion

Anything else just seems like hopium now with regime still in place, Iran having made $$$ over last 6 weeks and energy crisis deepening

IMO both sides currently think time is on their side (which doesn’t bode well for the global economy)
