(Incase it's TLDR: Adam still thinks we will win the league...)

Thank you Adam Clery. Just made me feel a whole lot better about it all. One for all you Gooners out there. (Don't pay too much attention to the headline.)

Truly exceptional players can expect to have teams moulded around them to suit their strengths. Gyokeres is nowhere near that level.
He can start v Burnley. He played ok against them earlier in the season. They're about the right level of opposition for him to score against.
Fingers in ears. La, la, la, la, la, la .....
So.... It's all YOUR fault then? ๐คฃ
It definitely would. Let's hope that doesn't turn out to be the case.
Your comment at the end @arseblog.com about the possibility of losing the Prem but winning the Champions League made me think of this set of predictions for 2026 made by Dougie Critchley of Football Daily which have been simmering at the back of my mind all year ...

That's my fear too. The Prem is such a slog. Especially for our players, with so many games and so little rotation. I can see some of them getting to the end and thinking 'Sod doing this again, I'll go to Spain/Germany/France where I'll have a much easier route to silverware'.
The reporting at the time said Gyok had been identified by Edu's recruitment team as a secondary-tier player and Arteta had to be convinced to go for him. Berta was the one who convinced him. I'm sure they all felt that the man who brought Alvarez to Athletico knew a thing or two about forwards!
I'm at Acceptance and Depression both at the same time - mixed with a little sprinkling of hope. As my mum used to say, you never know ...
Actually feel alright, and realised yesterday it's because I started the process early. Sounds like many are at the anger or depression stage now.
Sort of looping back around to bargaining/denial again though looking at the fixtures ๐ค
Gyok was Berta's recruit.
It makes my skin crawl.
We need them to have their Lance Armstrong moment. Football needs this to happen, soon. It just brings the game into disrepute otherwise. It's shameful that it has gone on so long and with such silence from the media.
Football's a game of very fine margins. If Havertz had put that header 6 inches lower. Or if Man City hadn't breached the rules 115 times without being sanctioned. So exciting. What a sport.
Totally.
I couldn't watch the game today. Far too much stress. Hats off to all those who did, either through necessity or choice, especially the away fans at the Emptyhad.
Have to confess, I'm jumping in the car to go shopping at 4.30pm today (shops open til 5.30). We tend to do well when I'm driving. I'll be heading back around 6pm. I'll be wearing the same red top I wore the evening we played Sporting away.
COYG!
Tom Hiddlestone on why Arsenal being under pressure and being under the weight if expectations is like breathing "rare air". Love his perspective, and one we as fans should also embrace imo.
Such sad news. RIP hero.
I don't know what relevance this has to anything, but it's put a smile on my face ๐
There's been very little commentary about the injuries in our team compared to last season, yet, to me, they feel about the same, if not worse.
I'm in awe of what the players still standing are capable of. I just fear that their fumes might evaporate before long - and then what?
๐๐๐
Yes, I just watched it and he did.
Fingers crossed it does the job ...
Yeh, no wins for me this season either from nearly all the ballots. You'd think their system could upweight those who haven't won - that doesn't seem to be the case as some people win multiple times in a season.
This!
I've been feeling so down since Saturday, but then I saw a highlights comp of the season so far, and it's the only thing that has cheered me up and given me back some hope in the last few days. It's not photos of bottles that will motivate this team, it's knowing what they're capable of.
Perhaps, but I'm not sure he will stay if we don't win anything this season - whether by his choice or the club's.
Maybe the ones pining for his return saw that goal he scored against Athletic Club in preseason. That was something to behold - it was like we had a new elite player. If he'd continued in that form and hadn't picked up the extra knee injury then who knows ...
I honestly don't think it was his call not to have them in the squad. He sounded angry when he said that at the end of his press conference.
(Go to 16.50 in the video and see for yourself ...)

I'm sure he didn't underestimate the potential consequences of this game.
๐ฏ My thoughts exactly. Give the social media team a few weeks' holiday and just get on with the serious stuff.
